Avenger 28BHS

I was first interested in the Lacrosse 292BHS, but I think my eyes are bigger than my wallet.

The Avenger 28BHS looks like it will do the trick for me and it's quite a bit cheaper. It's cheaper...I'm guessing largely because it has fewer luxury amenities standard and it's stick/tin construction, which I prefer over laminate.

My question: is it built with similar quality materials throughout? For example, linoleum, cabinetry, upholstery, appliances, etc. And structurally/exterior: frame, suspension, tires, roof, etc?

It is a heavy trailer, has "D" range tires, and good CCC...about 2800lbs. I like that as I had some problems with my last trailer, a Rockwood ultralite. Unfortunately, the local dealers don't have any in stock for me to look at.

The 28BHS uses the EXACT same cabinet construction, cabinet doors, linoleum, and appliances as a 292 LaCrosse. Several of the fabrics are the same but all are of similar quality to a LaCrosse.

Same frame, suspension, and tires. Roof is exactly same including decking.

You're absolutely right - way less features. Same great quality!

Like the LaCrosse EVERY Avenger has a 65 point secondary PDI performed on it before it leaves the factory that includes an air pressure test.

Contact our sales group for more information at www.primetimerv.com

Hope this helps and good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply. It doesn't look like the Avenger has the "wide track" suspension. Given that you mentioned that it has the same frame/suspension/tires, is having a "regular" stance v. a "wide track" a big deal? I see a lot of manufacturers going to wide stance, but the benefit is not obvious to me.

You probably caught me in semantics on that one - sorry. By same, I meant leaf spring.

No question, EZ TOW makes your ride smoother and more stable. However, our industry has built millions of RVs without EZ TOW so I would place it into the category of the other upgrades that you would find on a LaCrosse - very nice to have but not exactly "necessary".

I'm confident that our engineers always evaluate every model to determine the "best" placements of axles to maximize your safety and ease of towing.

Other than the occassional wise-crack (or sometimes self defense) I try to not "sell" too much on the forum. Please feel free to contact our sales group for more in-depth detail on the Avenger advantages.

So I pulled the trigger on a 28BHS today...now the long wait until it arrives. Keeping my fingers crossed it'll be here in time for spring break so we can have a little pre-season family vacation.
