Baggage Slam Latches

I had trouble with a coulple of my Slam Latch lockes on my 320RL, key cylinder would not turn with key. Called PrimeTime and they sent me two new Slam Latches, however I can't get the keys they sent with them to even go into the cylinder. I tried the keys on my other locks on the camper and they work fine. Is there a release or something you have to do the first time there used?

Mine were tough the first time. I thought I had the wrong key. I ended up rubbing my key with a bar of soap and it finally slid in. After the first few trips it has worked without issue.

I wondered if I had the right keys to the TT.
I used LockEase on every lock and they are much better. They are cheap locks and barely work.

No slam latch issues, but the main door keys have weakend to the point one snapped off in the lock last week. Asked for spare keys last Fall, and couldn't get them. Still in the campground awaiting UPS delivery of a whole new lockset. That hasn't shown up as agreed, so I'll be extending my stay again.

Not sure about the quality of PT's suppliers.

We had problems with ours also as well. It took a few trys and they got better, but the soap helped, also tried graphite powder and now they are like new.

My key snapped off in my slam hatch as well. I can still use that hatch with the broken key to open and lock it, but I need to replace it. General RV gave me a couple extra spare keys so that was nice!

Has anyone used the combi cam locks? I see on my inside hatch that the plastic cover that encloses the lock housing on the other side of the door is rivited and screwed on to the door. Am I supposed to snap off the rivits in order to replace the lock cylinder now? I have never done this before, so if you have, please share your insight on best practice for replacing the cam locks. I want the 4 number combi lock. If they will work, I will also use them on my outside kitchen hatch.

Joe
