Bug light above door burnt out - Tracer 3150

How do you change out the bulb that is over the outside door? It's sealed with caulk all the way around.

Do I need to cut out all the caulk to get to the screws? Please let me know.

Thanks! Joe

Nope, just pop off the colored cover...The look at it closely, it was pretty easy to remove.....bought the bulb at the campstore at Frontiertown when mine burned out....... Pretty standard bulb. I forget the number.

I agree with padave65. You only have to take off the colored lense. It's actually quite easy and should only take you a few minutes. Sqeeze the top part of the lense and slide it down. I forget the part number on the bulb, but you can get it at any hardware/rv store.

thanks a bunch! I wasn't about to go squeezing lenses just yet! Were camping next weekend in IN for five days so I will tackle it then!

Cheers! Joe

My unit has a clear lens light on the nose and I switched bulbs to the bug light until I could buy one at Wally World.

I put a small flat blade screw driver in at the indentation on the bottom center of the lens, turned it and the lens popped out.

bug light

I had the same problem with my new Crusader 325res. Replaced the bulb and blew it out the next night. The 1003 has 11 candle power, to hot to be contained under the lens. Talked to friend who manages Napa Auto Parts store and he suggested the 89 bulb at six candle power. Not quite as bright, but still produces plenty of light. It also burns much cooler. I tried it and it solved the problem. Bodymaker

We had problems with ours burning out. At best they lasted 3 days. We replaced it with an LED bulb, and not problems since.
