Crusader 290RLT Fridge Fan Noise

Hi Jim,

I have a 2013 290RLT and they may have made a change after the 2012.
My 1/8" piece of plywood is 24" by 42". The bottom is attached to the outside wall near the bottom vent with one screw. At the top they added a 1" piece of wood to the side wall and then attached the top of the 1/8" plywood to it. This moved the plywood 1" closer to the fins. It also brings the 1/8" plywood in flush against the fans. If this sounds right to you then it sounds like you did the right thing by moving it 1/2" closer to the fins. My photo tries to show what mine looks like after installing the new fans.

Like hearing the fan run, lets me know that the darn thing is workinjg just fine...ours at the moment is not. For some reason the unit kicked off during the night, did not switch to gas and never came on..now we are 5K miles from home and no reepair facility within 200 miles, Talkeetna, AK.

Try bypassing the fan thermostat. Possible the tstat is broke. Its located in the upper vent attached to the fins.

Replaced the OE fan with two fans. Much better...faster cooling and virtually no noise! An unexpected situation was the two wires' insulation had become kind of brittle making it more difficult to splice to the the new ones.

Sorry, Just caught this. Had the same experience on my Lacrosse once. Questions; 1 - Is there any power to the fridge? 2 - Were you stationary "off level" for any length of time (couple hours)?

#2 will cause #1. If so, the thermocouple may have tripped. It is located behind the "shield" just above the burner for the burner chimney. It IS resetable but should be replaced as once tripped, they become "weak" (told to me by the RV tech who replaced mine).
