Question Crusader 325res bedroom ac recommendations

I am looking for opinions on adding a bedroom ac to my Crusader 325res. If you have added one what brand\type did you install? I figure I'll go with a 15000btu with a heat strip. I have a pole barn that I store it in and have 13.5' of clearance and want to make sure it will clear.

Well, due to some unfortunate circumstances involving clearance issues I am currently doing the same. I lightly dinged my 13.5k bedroom AC. I am replacing with the same model but a 15k. It is the Dometic Brisk Air II in black, so it matches the rear AC.

We just got home from a long weekend camping trip I will climb up on the roof tomorrow and measure how much clearance there is in the pole barn. I think the front vent hole is a little higher so I want to be sure I have enough clearance should be fine just want to be positive.

I installed the Coleman Mach 8 because it is the lowest profile on the market. Because this AC would not tie into the other AC, it didn't matter that the brands matched. I did a 13,500 btu with the heat strip. Instructions were well written and the install was easy (other than getting it on the roof). If you have a barn, I would expect you could lift the AC up in the rafters and back under it.

I did the same. The Coleman Mach was the lowest. Heat strip isn't that great. This pic may not show the elevation. I pulled it in my shop and was a quick install once I got the beast up there! It helped that I had a forklift handy as well. Click image for larger version

The more I think and read about it I will probably skip the heat strip and since it for the bedroom 13500btu should be plenty. If it is cold enough to need heat I can just use a regular heater. My biggest concern is clearance in the pole barn. Didn't get up there today but looking at it from a distance there isn't a lot of room between the top of the vent cover and the trusses. Maybe 5-6".

The Coleman Mach 8 is 8" inches and it is the shortest on the market. Good luck!

Climbed up on the roof yesterday. It is a pain to do it with the 5ver in the pole barn I have to crawl under or step through the trusses but, I persevered and have about 15" of clearance between the 5ver roof and the bottom of the trusses. Will probably still go with the low profile AC if for no other reason less wind resistance.
