Different locks for each door

I just picked up my 2012 318BHS this weekend and was surprised to find that the two outside doors each have their own key. I thought they would be keyed the same but they aren't. Are other 318BHS owners finding this too? Are other model TT with two outside doors keyed the same or do they use different keys.

I transport Travel Trailers.. and 5ers.... most of the 2 door units....have 2 different sets of keys. (and another set of compartment keys )..they must just pick 2 doors off a line, when a rig is built.

You could get one re-keyed.

My 2009 Wildwood 27 FKSS had 2 doors and the same key operated ALL locks on both doors. Our new Lacrosse 303 RKS only has 1 door so, can't help on the newer units. Guess it depends on the manufacturer.

My 2012 318BHS also has separate key locks for each door. I just color coded one of them for easy reference.

Our new 2604 also has separate key locks, plus very hard to get the dang key in the keyway. This is the only thing so far that we don't like about our new RV.

Ours keys also don't work well. I'm going to buff them up to see if that helps. No reason why a key shouldn't work well.

The key # is on the inside of the lock on a piece of tape paper.

Our Cougar TT had different keys for each door. As far as the "rough" key...try Teflon spray in the lock. The slam-latch doors on our new 5th wheel were very rough. Little Teflon spray and they're super smooth.

X2 on "teflon spray". All of locks on my new V-Lite were very difficult to use until I sprayed them with silicone (insert the little plastic spray tube directly into the lock). Now they all work great. I don't understand why the dealer didn't spray them while prepping the trailer for delivery.

My 2011 Flagstaff has three keys; one for the door, one for four storage compartments, and one for the outside shower. The one for the storage compartments, also opens the storage on a friend-of-mine's 2006 Cougar storage compartments. Wayne

And probably most of the trailers ever made storage compartments can be unlocked with the same key which more than likely has CH751 stamped in it.

Our V-Lite had the same key as our 2010 Edgewater had. Note I said had, we now have barrel locks which as they say just keep the honest people honest but they are a step up. And our 2 doors use different keys as well.

Does anyone think it's worth it (at least from a piece of mind standpoint) to replace the baggage door locks with the combiLocks? On my outside kitchen hatch door, after you remove the four screws from a inside latch lock, there are still four rivets holding the aluminum cover. Looks like I would have to bend the cover, which would possibly weaken that area when trying to swap out the lock cylinders.

Any experience around this? Thanks!

I don't think I would change the lock in my outside kitchen as I don't think anybody would want to take anything out of there, wait a minute,I forgot about the beer. When you figure out how to change the lock without much damage, let me know how.

The fridge is a standard 110v dormer fridge, and I'm sure I'll stock it with beer... Temptation! I'll update on when I do the upgrade too.

I have 4 different keys on mine. It's probably my only complaint with my trailer so far.

We have 2 different keys. If you wanted you could remove one of the locks and have it rekeyed.
