Don't have a Crusader anymore, but my SOB has the same type of front cap. Have a manual slider hitch and was too stubborn to use it. You will get into situations where the slider will come in handy. Such as nose of truck uphill and making a tight turn backing can leave a dent in the back wall of the cab.
Been there, done that, have the mark on my truck to prove it. If you're lucky, as I was, you realize it before you break out the back window. I'd recommend the slider.
