E1 error on my AC

Hi. My AC was working fine and now the thermostat flashes between E1 error code and the last temperature setting. Neither the AC or the furnace is working. We have checked all the connections inside and replaced the thermostat with no success. I have read this code means loss of communication but how do we fix this. We have a 2012 Lacross RES. Thanks for any help!

I would at least try to shut off the Circuit breaker and battery DC and then turn back on and see what you get. This may be all you need to reset the error.
Good luck.

It's my understanding that an E1 flashing code indicates the thermostat has lost its memory. Remove the thermostat and check for loose terminals. More often than not a new thermostat is required. Evidently continued use of your system with the code flashing will not harm the system.

I had this happen with the 2nd AC on my Sanibel a year ago. I checked the unit on the roof and found no 120vac (without power there is no communication). I found a loose wire connection at the CB panel. Repaired that and all has been good since.

I have the same error code, means a loss of communication with control module. Mine is probably toast because my camper was hit by lightning.

I hate lightening !!! If close enough (static charge), it will also affect the control box for the Schwintek slides. Fortunately for me, just pushing the reset button inside the control box got it working again. Happened 3 times in the 3 years we owned our Lacrosse,

What does the data cable look like? Could this be the issue? How easy to replace?

CB = Circuit Breaker. Don't know where the panel is in your unit. You need to know where that is for the same reasons you would need to know in your house. The breaker panel has breakers for all of your electrical loads including both 120 vac and the 12vdc loads. Each of your AC units (If you have 2) will have a 120vac breaker in this panel.

As for the data cable, it will look like a phone cord. It is also possible that the cable has disconnected from the circuit board on the roof or behind the wall mounted thermostat. I would check that too. These cables just plug in like a phone cable, real easy to see and reconnect. I would doubt that this cable is broken and needs replaced, more likely disconnected if anything.

Where is the data cable on the roof located and how do I check where the cable is behind the thermostat? When we replaced the LCD thermostat we reconnected the three wires that screwed into the thermostat then

Did your 2nd. AC come factory installed ? or was it added at the dealer ship? Does your thermostat look like the one Turbs posted previously ?

We have one AC unit that was factory installed. We replaced just the thermostat. The thermostat is the same kind that was on it previously. It is a Dometic three button LCD screen
