front cap delamination

Does anyone know before I call my insurance provider if front cap delamination is covered? Has anyone tried this. I emailed Prime Time over the weekend thinking that the armour tek 5 year warranty started on purchase date which would protect me until April 2022 but it started on manufacture date which was Jan 9th. Prime Time said I was out of warranty and could provide no assistance. 8 days out of warranty and I thought I had 3 more months

Does Armour Tek have a direct contact number to call? They may go by your purchase date.

Not that I am aware. I emailed Prime Time and they said they would set me up with their Service Manager if I wanted to have my unit brought back to the factory and be repaired. I haven't responded to that yet as I have opened up a claim with my insurance. Still waiting to see how that goes.

Update. So I filed a claim with my insurance company and it was approved. So far it looks like they are only paying to repair the fiberglass and not replace the whole cap which is fine with me I just want the cap fixed before it gets worse. Next step is to bring it to a repair facility and see what they say. I will keep y'all posted.

Is that actual delamination of the fiberglass cap itself or just the crappy clear coat that is peeling or chipping off? It looks like the clear coat peeling and flaking issues that alot of cars have had on hoods/roofs - not sure how insurance would cover it since its not collision related or how it would fall under comprehensive coverage - interested in how this turns out

I don't know anyone, whether it's a MH, 5er or TT with a front cap, that hasn't had problems with them somewhere along the line. It's just a poor design. I'd never own one.

I'm not sure. It actually looks like it may be rock chips but I do not know for sure. My insurance policy covers physical damage to the trailer. I guess this falls into that category as I already have been approved for repairs to the cap.

It was just a matter of time. No matter how much washing and waxing I knew this was bound to happen one day.

Its the crappy clear coat. Mine did the same thing. haven't brought it in to be repaired yet since it would take me an hour and a half to get it to a repair shop. It's a shame you pay all this money for crap

Do not bother having it repaired by a dealer. General RV repaired under warranty and after 4 years later it looks like this. Take it to a professional body shop to have it repaired. Make sure they use a color coat to prevent more oxidation of the gel coat.Click image for larger version

Well as of now it is fixed. The dealer used a 3rd party company that repaired and repainted the cap. Only time will tell if it holds up or not.
