When I ordered my 5th Wheel from Dynamax, I had them install the SeeLevel gauges. If you are ordering an RV, ask for it to be installed. They are a great system!

Uh Oh I am looking at 2 of FR products, PT Crusader and Shasta Phoenix, used but are there real big issues with them?

New or used? PT has great customer service! But then.....I might be a little bias.

I've had 2 PT products since 2010 and have only lost 1 night of use due to a slide issue which was my fault......lack of maintenance & lubing on the slide mechanism.

Unless you special order your unit and had it built specifying either SeeLevel or Series external sensors, you have the internal KIB junk ones.

Tale a look, pretty easy to tell as the external sensor strips are just that, externally affixed to the tanks (usually in plain view).

If it was a stock (new) unit, bet you don't. If it was used and the previous owner upgraded, you might.

Don't bank on 'being told', especially by a drummer, they all 'stretch' the truth.

Not new don't like new interior colors, looking at 295 or 315 models from 2013-2015 as. Those have auto leveling, run low to mid $20's and have nice interior colors and exterior colors. I am done with new since they lose $ and having a warranty only helps first year then your done. Money we can save going Used I can do a whole lot to the trailer to make it fit our needs.

I have to agree with your synopsis. Buying used is a better deal all around considering the depreciation curve in a new RV and the poor warranty period.

Let the first owner deal with the unit and warranty repairs and then when they have had it, buy it....

Besides, you can always toss the old mattress and then it's new again....

When we picked up our Silverback, the walk-through guy told us the sensors were not very accurate. Was he ever RIGHT-ON. Yet they are better than nothing.

If you made $30,000 a year for 35 years, you made $1,050,000.00.......

You'll need to ask about the Shasta, in the Shasta sub-forum.

Bought new. This is my 2nd also. We had a tag alone first, then bought the Sanibel 5ver. We haven't lost a day camping with either one. Issues with towing the tag along. I didn't like the way it towed at all. It was all over the road, not with just my truck. My son's 1 ton also. Towing it in for the trade it towed fine, go figure. I did change the set up a bit though. I drove 18 wheelers for a living. I'm more comfortable with a 5ver anyway.

Anyone find any accurate digital sensors? I would be interested in finding a good set of digital sensors if they work?

iSeries or See Level are your best bets. There are a couple of others out there, but these two appear to be the best. I have had SeeLevel on several campers in the past and it was accurate and pretty much trouble free.
