Thanks, I'll post pics next week! We had a popup for two years and decided it was time to move up! We're big fans of Chippokes - it doesn't hurt that it's 30 minutes from our house!

Prime Time Family

Purchased a PT Sanibel 3901 on 21 FEB 2015. Picked it up on 7 March from North Canton Ohio. Thanks to this forum for great advice and experienced comments.

Purchased a 2015 Tracer 3200BHT and picked it up from Canton, Oh on 11-28-14. It went back because the main slide won't open when I got home and picked it back up a few weeks ago. Hope to take it out for the first time next weekend.

One concern is hideaway bed. Didn't know when we bought but it's about a foot shorter than a standard length bed. Samaka, is yours full length? What is the deal. Specs say it sleeps 6?
We have a 2013RST TE Sleeps 4 2 in the queen bedroom and a tight two in the pull out couch.

About to pick up a Prime Time Spartan 1032 Toy Hauler. Have owned a couple fifth wheels (Holiday Rambler and most recently a Jayco Designer) and been very satisfied. Will be interested in seeing how folks like the Prime Time and, more specifically, the Spartan products.

I just bought a 1032 as well... nicely made coach with high quality components. This is my first RV....and quite a jump from years of tent camping! Ready for my first weekend out....and shake down with the bike strapped down in the garage.

After buying the rv...a 2015 GMC Denali 3500HD with a Duramax diesel....5th wheel hitch...and all the accessory stuff required to get started....my cost per night will not get below Ritz Carlton rates until the next turn of the century!!

Best of luck and fun with yours.

Was going to ask what you pull with....we have the 2014 2500HD version of your truck. Will be curious how you feel your truck pulls. Had our truck when we pulled a 4 slide, 13,000 plus #, 37' Jayco Designer (about 12 mpg). Have already looked into another leaf in the suspension...shop guy said it would add about 800# to our limit. Also talked to Chevy and they said (off the record) the weight limits (ours is 15,800#) are based on pulling a trailer, not a fifth wheel, so can add about 10% to our 15,800#....would think you could do the same.

Oops...after reading your response more closely...we have a 2014 Duramax Diesel Silverado, not GMC.

Basically the same truck...except the 3500 model I have has the extra spring. I have driven it around quite a bit and it pulls great. I live in Colorado at 5400 feet, so horsepower is lower here than at sea level due to the thinner air. Still....the truck likes the trailer behind it and when I hitch up, the bed drops very little. Also, I bought a slider hitch....Reese with the Elite series head...but I do not need the slider. The angles on the trailer are cut nicely at an angle to allow for full maneuverability even my crew cab and standard 6'6" bed.

There is good youtube video online showing our truck tested pulling max weight over the continental divide....11,500 feet ASL ...with no problem whatsoever.

I am getting about 12 mpg towing as well.

Headed outside to de-winterize....

Cheers

Great reply, Marty, thanks. We have the same 16k hitch and we never had to use the slide either. We are in Michignan and travel to Florida to work/camp in a State Park. Will be doing about a month out your way (son, daughter-in-law and new grandson near Salt Lake City) in September. Do we dare exchange email addresses in a forum like this??Let's keep in touch....will enjoy hearing what you think. Steve

Hahahaha. We all feel that way after buying a new camper. I changed pop ups and spent all kinds of money.

Vin.
