Surrogate campers with friends who own a 5th wheel that had a bunk 2" too short for me. 3 years of sleeping in the short bed convinced us to get our own.

We got rid of our stock mattress for a box one. It was a company called tochta. They make the special for rv’s and trucks. They make special cuts if needed. The bed is great.

We purchased our 2017 Crusader 5th wheel in April 2017. Took it out west for a month that June. Then, in October, as part of my husband's winter prep, he discovered several dime sized punctures in the roof fabric. We filed an insurance claim, as this was not a warranty issue. It was determined that, due the newness of our unit, it would be best to replace the entire roof fabric as opposed to just trying to patch the holes. We took our unit to a place in a repair service nearby town who does warranty work for Prime Time. (Side note: we reside only 6 miles from the place where our unit was built and have a son who works in R & D there, of course this influenced our choice &#128522

To continue, the work was completed in November to the tune of $5,500 and our unit was returned to us. This last April, we took another 5 week, about 3,000 mile trip with no roof problems. Then, on September 8th, we left home for another trip which took us to Colorado, Arizona, and now New Mexico, so far 3,500 miles. Last week as we traveled into New Mexico, on a beautiful, sunny day, my husband just happened to look in the outside mirror of the truck and noticed that the shadow of the unit on the pavement showed something flapping in the wind on the roof. As soon as possible, he pulled off to the side of the road and climbed up to inspect the roof. To his utter amazement, the fabric had come loose from the front of the unit and billowed up causing a very large tear, about 10' long. Luckily, I keep a roll of duct tape in my kitchen and he was able to tack it down. We considered ending our trip, but after $70 worth of Flextape we decided to continue on and deal with the problem when we get home at the end of the month.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?

2016 Crusader 370 BHQ bought end of September 2018. My wife and I love it, along with the kids and grandkids. Lots of room and seems well built. Still trying to figure some things out, like why do you pull the battery disconnect out to charge the battery and should it stay pulled out. When do you push it in?

I have a 2016 PT TracerAir and in is power off and out is power on but I don't know if yours is the same.
Its easy enough to figure it out. Don't plug into shore power and move the knob in or out and check if the lights work.

Pushed in is off (battery disconnected). Pulled out connects the battery. Just leave it pulled out, unless you are troubleshooting, or need to disconnect the battery.

Be aware that the battery disconnect does not disconnect everything. If you are working on the electrical system, physically disconnect the battery (remove the terminals from the battery) because of this.

Thanks Ben, are there filters for the furnace and A/C s? I am a contractor and some what annal about these things.

Kooldog, nice temporary fix. Had to be heart-breaking to find on a trip. You did what you had to do to keep going. You are going to have to go back to where it was worked on. Hard to tell from the pictures where it started, but appears to have started from the cap area. If that is the case, then they may have not sealed or attached it correctly under the trim, leading to the failure that went from bad to worse. Either way, it will need total replacement. My initial guess, they did not remove the cap trim and just sealed the front edge at the trim, leading to the failure.

Yes. Pull it out whenever it is NOT in storage. When you're plugged into shore power (or at home) leave it pulled out. This will allow the onboard converter/smart charger to keep the battery charged. Like others have said, not all 12v power is turned off when you push it in. Usually stabilizers, landing gear & slides are still live. The battery disconnect is meant to kill the power to stuff that is on all the time or whatever you may have forgotten to turn off (carbon monoxide detector, propane leak detector, thermostat etc.) when you put it in storage or are not going to leave it plugged in somewhere.

Our AC only has those single thickness mesh "filters." About all they really filter out is large items. Those should be located on the air return vents. If they start deteriorating, you can cut them out of cheap home AC filters. I thought about adding some HEPA material to the intakes. However, if you have the remote air return vents, the flow is already restricted, so you don't want to make it worse.

The furnace doesn't have a filter and you REALLY don't want to restrict that air flow.

Many of the items on the Crusaders are similar across the line. So, feel free to ask whatever questions you have. There aren't any stupid ones. We all started out at some point and learned through others. There are plenty of people on here willing to help out.
