Hurricane Warning

In my younger days I may have been asked to leave a campground for being too rowdy, but I have never been asked to leave due to a Hurricane. We were camped about 20 miles from Allentown, PA and at lunch time today an employee handed us a flyer that stated we had to be out by 4PM. I guess time will tell if this was neccessary or everyone is being extremely cautious.

Had that happen about 15 years ago in Florence, NC as a hurricane approached Myrtle Beach. The wanted those who had been there a day or two to move on so they could accommodate people who were fleeing from the coast.

So, maybe they did you a favor of sorts. Presuming you went home you doubled the distance between you and New York City before you got embroiled in the impending chaos.

Looking back on their decision to order the evacuation, it was CYA (cover your ass). Had they not evacuated and there would have loss of property or life they probably would have been deemed somewhat responsible.

Oh, was there a hurricane out East? You would NEVER know it from the news coverage . . . .

P.S. Not minimizing anyone's pain. Just commenting on the East Coast centric coverage of the major networks.
