Kitchen Fan Operation Sanibel 3500

We have a 2013 Sanibel 3500 we bought in 2012. I have just got around to figuring out some little issues, one being that the kitchen overhead fan and the vent open switch only work when the light switch next to it is on. Does any one have a sanibel 3500 and have the same issue or is mine wired wrong? It's little annoying to have the light on to turn on the vent fan.

It's wired wrong. Mine isn't like that (nor would I want it to be!).

It's probably a trivial fix. They no doubt were supposed to tap off the hot side of that switch and just got the switched side instead.

That's what I thought, they taped the wrong side of the switch. I hate making a warranty claim on this. Take it to a dealer to fix, however I don't want to take any chances.

Definitely wrong - sorry. We will take care of it under warranty.
