LaCrosse 303RKS now in driveway

Last week we picked up our Lacrosse 303RKS (#92). I want to give special thanks to RV Guy, grhodes50, and the many forum contributors that answered my many questions that lead the way to this outstanding travel Trailer. We are happy campers! The PDI went well, Sony's Camp & Travel, was prepared. They ran thu all systems before we arrived so that when DW and I conducted the PDI there were no surprises. Sony's offer us a new owners discount that is good for the entire month, because of this discount, we also got a "super" deal on two 2000 watt Yamaha generators. Living close to the Smokey Mountains, we like to boondock in the National and State parks, the generators will get much use.
The camper now resides in our driveway as we take the next few months to add the small appointments and mods that makes it "us". I will be seeking advice from all the seasoned forum Prime Time and Forest River RV's as to what mods and tips can be shared, that will contribute to great camping experiences.
For any forum viewers interested in investigating purchase of a Prime Time RV, and you live near the SC/NC state lines, Sony's camp & travel has two locations, Greenville Spartanburg in SC and Charlotte, NC. Their sales approach is low pressure, and they treat you like family.

I like the front cap. Looks good.
I also noticed the black trim along bottom on the front & side. Mine has white trim on the sides with the diamond plate rock guard on the front.


Post some more pics (inside & out) when you can so I can see what other changes PT has made since I purchased my 303rks.

X2 Congrats. I'm sure you will love your experiences as much as Gary and I have (especially when the grandkids are with us). And X2 on the interior pics. We always like to see whats been added/improved so we can compare.

Thanks for the compliment Rugged Brown. For many years I drove some real bombs, Most of the cars that I own hit the 250K mileage, change the oil every 3,000 miles and drive them until the wheels fall off. Found this to be the easiest way to save money for the one you really want. My DW picked the color - sometimes she lets me win. I was leaning toward the deep black, tinted windows and debadged - darth vader look.

The lamp between the table I added. The sink cover is now one unit and on the end /side of the longest counter top, PT has placed a bungee cord to store the cover when not in use. (good idea)


Here are some mods I'm considering.


I have added the cutting board mod (like yours) to the stove top.

I purchased a clear Lexan sheet (about 1/8th thick) that I'm fooling around with to see if I can preserve the counter tops from scratching while allowing the good looks of the e-stone to still be seen.

I am planning to add a square PVC fence post (with end caps) to the underside of the TT near the waste dump to store the flex hose.

I also will add a 8" dia PVC pipe (with end caps) near the rear bumper to store the awning rug.

I also purchase a 32 gal portable waste tk, will replace the hard rubber wheels with pneumatic tires (small ones) to make moving a full tank on gravel or rough surface easier. Then I plan on sliding the spare tire, mounted on bumper, closer to the trailer side to make room for portable waste tk storage. Mt thoughts for the waste tk storage is to find a used light duty hand truck, remove the wheels and cut-off the wheel support tubing so the unit can set close to the rear trailer wall when perched on the rear bumper. I will drill four holes in the hand truck lift plate add a secondary camp plate so I can strap it to the bumper. I think the portable sewage tk can be secure to the hand truck frame via number of bungees.

I was going to try and develop a TT underbelly ladder storage area but after reading about the telescoping ladder of this forum, I think I'll just buy the telescoping ladder. (problem solved)

As part of the TT purchasing negotiations, I had the dealer add topper slide awnings (care free brand), double battery setup and a fantastic fan over the kitchen ceiling vent. Also I added Maxi vent covers over both vents because I gets really hot down here in the summer and when I take off to fish and play I will not have to worry about a rain storm popping up while I'm gone.

As I complete my modifications, even those that are small and insignificant, I will post (with photos)

All good ideas and should work well for you.

We haven't ever boondocked and most of our camping is with FHU's, sometimes just W & E. We haven't camped long enough without sewer hookups to need a tote, but I still have a 15 gal that I kept after getting rid of our first pop up. I use it with the pop up we have now, but if ever the need arises to use it with the LaCrosse I can throw it in the bed of the truck.

As far as the sewer hose storage, I use the tt's rear bumper. It's a good fit with the elbow removed. I store the elbow along with an extra hose and all the sewer connections inside a container in the pass through storage.

Way to go Rustymax. Hope you have many happy miles ahead. The wife and I our waiting to bring home a new Windjammer 3008 W. Some of your inside photos show similar items. Good job on the photos, now I need to read the post, so I will know how to post some of my own when the time comes.

Went to Council Bluff, IA yesterday to firm up the deal on new leftover 2010 LaCrosse 303RKS. Weather was cold with maybe some snow, but we gambled and went anyway. After some near misses with the dealer, it became a done deal. Had the dealer swap out the standard refrigerator for an 8 foot model, it fit right in. Stayed the night with our daugther and picked up the trailer this morning after dealer switch our power jack and Hensley hitch over. No snow, just 2 degrees above zero. Hooked up and headed 225 miles back to Kansas.

Hadn't looked at it person much before buying, but turned the furnace on and sat in it tonight after getting it home, sure is a nice trailer. Will try and send pic in the near future, Mrs Wildwood said I was behind in my chores after spending 3 weeks looking for a trailer, so maybe I can get caught up and go RVing in March weather pending, even a short trip would be fine with me.

Outstanding news Mr. and Mrs. Wildwood! Congratulations!! You will receive many TT compliments from your neighbors, both at home and at the many campsites you visit. Like DW and I, I know you can't wait for Spring to come. Our camping plans will start with a "dry run" in the driveway with the grandchildren as soon as the weather breaks a little, then later in the Spring we will take the first two outings, both within 100 mile radius. First will be a campground in Pisgah National Forest that will be a boon-docking experience, next will be at a private CG in DuPont Forest that has full hook-ups. Post some pictures, everyone here would like to see your new baby.
