Need Help fast - Refrigerator
Does anyone know if the refrig has a fuse or breaker anywhere? I looked in the main panel and nothing is labeled for frig. The auto light was on, but just went out there and the light was out along with the light inside. I know the trailer is getting power as the microwave clock is on. We were leaving today for the weekend, but will have to cancel if frig died.

Don't know anything about your LaCrosse 296BHS but I would think the fridge should work om Electric, gas and or Battery. Are you sure it's plugged in and on? Hope you get it working and are able to go for the weekend. Good luck

is anything working on the 12V side? from what I understand the controls work off 12V.
if yes on 12V power, there has to be a 12V fuse to the fridge, look at all of them- . also make sure the fridge didn't get turned off by accident.

Back again if you have low or no 12v try hooking a battery charger to the battery to maintain a charge.

12V side works fine. Looked at all the fuses and breakers, everything is OK, dealer said probably the board went out. Thanks for all the replies. Our weekend is canceled and taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Could you rough-it and use an ice chest? Then drop it off on the dealer on the way home? Seems a shame to cancel over that. Just a thought...

If you have 12 volt, then you may be able to run your fridge on propane to save the weekend camping trip.

Different directions from dealer and campground. Also, dealer is 1 1/2 hours away each direction so have to take it in tomorrow morning when I have the time to do it.

There is fuses at the back of the unit under the plastic cover that all the wires go into you have a screw and some locking tabs holding it on there are two glass fuses and one is for 110V the other is for 12V make sure power is off before removing cover. and fuses.

Sorry to respond so late but, was your TT "off level" when you were getting it ready to go for the weekend? The fridge, when on, can only sustain a tilt of less than about 6 degrees. If it is left running in the "off level" position too long the ammonia coolant in the coils not flow properly and will clog. This will then trip a thermal switch cutting off ALL POWER to the fridge. The switch is behind the metal heat shield in the rear of the fridge and rivited to the flu pipe for the propane flame. the switch is "resettable" but should be replaced.
I know this from personal experience and took it to the dealer on our way back from a trip. I watched as the technician located the thermal switch, tested it and found that it was "tripped" and replaced it. He also showed me how to reset it by pushing the button on it but, said that it should be replaced A.S.A.P. if it should ever trip again.
Hope this helps and good luck

It is most likely that glass fuse onetonford mentioned in his post. The circuit board had a loose/corroded/bad ground connection causing mine to pop the 110 fuse on the fridge circuit board. Dealer corrected the ground issue and it's been all good ever since.
Your propane side should work just fine to power that fridge! Many folks including me swear that it gets colder on propane anyway. Just switch it to auto/on, and press the gas button- being sure that the gas is on. Your trip should be just fine, and you'll never notice that there was any fridge problem! (If it's not too late) Randy

Ended up being a loose connection behind somewhere which killed all power to frig (12v and 110), so even gas would not work. Tech replaced/repaired connection and all seems good now. We will try to go out again in a couple of weeks. Thanks for all the responses.
