New Mexico and Colorado Trip

Folks we left the Texas Hill country yesterday morning for New Mexico and Colorado. Just wrapping up our second night in Roswell. We are staying at Trailer Village RV Park which is a great place to spend a couple of nights... close enough to the local attractions and far enough away for peace and quiet. Did the International UFO Museum today along with the Goddard Rocket Museum. Had a very relaxing day. It never got above 72, which is a big difference from the 100+ temps we have in Texas. Early tomorrow morning we are leaving for Colorado. Were going to stay at One Mile campground which is just North West of Gunnison. I'll post up some more pics soon...

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Sounds like a great trip and glad your getting away from the high temps.

We finally are getting away from the 100º temps. Our high today was 83º and the forecast calls for the same for at least another week. They're saying the 100º+ temps are probably gone 'til next year.

Keep us up to date on your trip and post more pics whenever you get a chance.

Leaving Colorado tomorrow for about a month of camping. Going to Black Hills and then Wis. for 55th class reunion. With the troubles I have had with my 2011 Flagstaff 5th wheel so far, I'm dreading the trip. Wayne

A few more pics... Just outside of Almont, CO at One Mile campground. It is significantly cooler than Texas and we rediscovered what rain is! The Campground is awesome, the people are nice, the scenery is beautiful, and the trout fishing is great. Having a really good trip so far. Our Tracer is performing the way it should, except for the Satellite hookup... still haven't got this one figured out yet, so satellite feed is coming in through the window again, other than that - life is good!

Alright! More great pics!

Colorado, gotta love it. Beautiful scenery.

Looks like you are having a great time catching trout. Don't catch 'em all, leave a few for others.

Thanks for sharing the pics and post some more when you get the chance.

Awesome Patrick. How was the drive to New Mexico? We are leaving South Texas Oct 1st to do same thing you do; go to new Mexico then Colorado. I really like the campground pic of the One mile Campground. Did you experience any difficulty with the Trailer?

Well, we finished up our trip yesterday evening. Left Colorado early saturday morning and stopped in Carlsbad, NM. Did the Carlsbad Caverns on sunday and headed back monday morning...

In Carlsbad we stayed at the Carlsbad KOA which was a very nice place to hangout for a few days.

Ruben,
The drive was not bad at all, just a lot of it! We did about 2300 miles in 10 days and the roads were well marked and pretty easy to navigate. Of coarse, the GPS helped out a lot. There was some road construction in Carlsbad and a short stretch between Fort Stockton and Carlsbad, but neither one of these held us up for more than just a few minutes.

Other than the satellite feed, we did not have any troubles at all with our PT Tracer 2670.

Do you know where you guys are going to camp? Also, how many days is your trip?

Next year I will try and stretch this trip into a 2 week trip and spend more time in Colorado.

Our trip is planned from Saturday to Saturday starting Oct 1st. I'm a lot further south than you though so getting out of texas will take me a day in itself but will probably divide it into 2. Right now we plan to stay either at Palo Duro Canyon or San Angelo State parks in Texas. Then make our way to Roswell to stop and see and then head north around Albuquerque and stay there hoping to see Balloon Fiesta. Then after that head up to Colorado and don't know yet where we are staying.
