Outside tap thingy

Hello. Just a question about the water at the main hook up station. I only get cold water out of it. Turn the hot tap and nothing comes out. I checked the valves coming out of the hot water tank and looks like it there isn't a pipe going to it. Is this normal. It is lacrosse 318bhs. Thanks.

Do you mean the thing that looks and acts like a shower head but is outside near the water panel? All the ones I have seen had both hot and cold.

That would be the one. It has the hot and cold tap but only water comes out the cold one and nothing at all comes out of the hot.

There must be a blockage in the hot water valve. If under warranty take it back to the dealer. If not you could turn off the water to the TT. Then remove valves for the hot water check for any objects in the water line. When the valve is removed apply a small amount of water or air pressure to blow out the line.

Next question. When you turn on the hot water only at the outside, do you get any water? How long do you let it run?

Got cold water right away. Turn the hot tap. Nothing. Waited 10 seconds.

It sounds like they just forgot to run a line to the hot side of the tap. Wouldn't be the first time they forgot something, I am sure.

Try just turning on the hot water side and let it run for at least 30 seconds, or longer (leave the cold water side turned off). Then reverse the procedure - they might be hooked up on reverse with cold actually the hot tap and hot the cold tap.

I had the same problem with my 303 RKS. Rather that take it back to the dealer (2 1/2 hours one way), I contacted Prime Time and they were willing to send me a new faucet assembly. I told them to wait until I checked it out further (it was early spring and TT was still in storage). When I de-winterized it, I also removed the interior panel at the rear of the docking station (which is under the bed on the 303 RKS) and found that the HOT water line was kinked between the back of the faucet and where the line goes down through the floor. The line was too long and when they tried to "curve" it to attach to the faucet assembly it kinked. The hose was long enough where I just cut it off below the kink and reattached it to the faucet assembly.

However, keep in mind that as part of Prime Times 25 year leak-free guarantee, they use Oetiker line clamps. Once cut off a new clamp must be installed with special clamp pliers (both available at Lowes or Home Depot), regular hose clamps WILL NOT work.

Hope this helps and good luck.

Well sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar. Kinked hot line.

However this wasn't the problem. I guess it is dealer time. Which sucks because I am a month and a half out of warranty.

I took a couple of pics of the hot pipes coming from the hot water tank. I looks like the outside hot was missed. The hot that is on the floor goes to the shower and the other goes to the kitchen faucet. Hope I can get this still covered under warranty. 6 weeks out of it.

SK - Although I can't exactly see what your last pic means, what I can tell you is this: If your outside shower doesn't have a hot water line run to it, we will take care of the issue regardless if it's out of warranty or not.

Please contact our service department at this link and let us get to work on this for you.

Prime Time Manufacturing, Manufacturers of travel trailers and fifth wheels

Sorry for the problem.

Thanks RV Guy. Again it is great to have your participation. I will follow that link. Never had a need to use the outside shower till now.

Also, all of this posting had been done on my iPhone using the Forrest river app. Whomever designed it did a great job. Not only has this helped me out but is a great time waster.
