When the factory says no double tow in "my" mind that means if you do it, it's not right or safe.

Warranty is likely only one year, so I wouldn't see it as losing much. Any reputable hitch shop should be able to get you setup to tow the commander behind the fifth

Turbs, In this case PT is stating that it would have to be a PT or Lippert certified welder which infers that it can be done according to the factory. Its is common practice within reason in Louisiana and I have yet to come across any issues with a properly installed hitch. To say it is unsafe and not allowed isnt a fair statement.

Its kinda like the "weight police" chasing Old Coot around this forum and he runs circles around them.

I run from New Jersey to Florida running Interstate highways as much as possible. Never had an issue or even a second look from any law enforcement. I'm under the max length from my home portal and it is completely safe. It's triple trailer towing that is illegal now around here. For all those that get confused, double towing is 2 trailers and triple towing is 3 trailers.

I used to tandem tow with no issues, had a bolt in custom hitch which allowed the frame to gently flex when turning and had zero issues....all was good

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe so the wife and him can both have a vehicle.

Could be full-timers and want a small vehicle for getting around but still like the floorplans that are offered by fifth wheels vs. motorhomes.

This thought has actually crossed my mind with some future dreams of ours.

I could see the need. My wife doesn't want anything to do with driving the dually. So if she wants to run out for anything, guess who has to take time away from his attempt at trying to wear out the folding chair? Me!

UTV towing

We pull our Ranger on a snowmobile trailer behind our Crusader325RES. Just add some structure to mount a hitch, the rear bumper is not built for a hitch.
As for the warrantee, it would only affect a frame issue, and that's a non issue unless your towing a big heavy boat or pickup truck, or something stupid heavy.
Good Luck.

Have pulled double from Michigan to Florida for 7 years. Just bought a toy hauler but pulled a 37+ foot fifth wheel with a 13 ft trailer/motorcycle on the back. Heard horror stories from others but was never stopped.
