Our 1st camping trip of the 2014 season. This is under the kitchen slide. Not good & not happy. Our unit is a 2014 Crusader 295rst, purchased 8/2013.

Recommend you contact primetime as well as your dealer!

Not a good sign. In addition to the wear the edge below the white trim is porous and will wick water also, Please, anyone that contacts Primetime, keep us posted,

According though to RVGUY this was only an extra layer of protection and the wood is waterproof?
how do I know what kind of tape or floor I have on my 2670? he said there is three different kind of floors, what kind does my tracer have? Im just worried now about the longtivity of this camper. I don't want leaking issues down the road and my dealer im sure wont fix this issue if there is no issue to begin with.... but my luck would have it that it starts fraying this summer right after the warranty runs out
I have a 2013 Tracer 2670bhs. It has the tape wrapped around the bottom corners of the slide that the rollers rest on. Appears to mainly protect the edges of the supposedly waterproof plywood that is used. Hard to believe that if left unprotected they wouldn't absorb water, or if it isn't necessary why they would even put it on.

After one season of camping, the tape is no longer providing any protection. The bottom is wore from the rollers bearing on it, and edge of the tape at the corner is torn.

Appears that from the lack of PT posting any type of recommend fix in this thread and continuing to build them the same, they are trying to avoid the issue and deny there is a problem. Other than that we are very happy with the quality of it though.

I plan to do some type of modification myself in the next couple of weeks. Something to protect the edge that extends under the side trim and on the bottom past the rollers. But has to be wide enough on the bottom side to extend past the whole roller. Something rigid, not tape. Can anyone post a link to a product that would work?

Ksilvi, I suspect you have the same issue that a number of us 295RST owners have had. A screw protruding up from the rub bar. Contract PT and/or your dealer right away. They will fix it.

How do they make the repair if I may ask, I do not own a PT but have been following this thread from the beginning besides the part of cutting the bolt down.....

That wear is caused by the rollers and not a screw. Primetime has yet to respond to many posts and questions about the wear on the Darco wrapped slides.

I can say the slide on my new just delivered 296BHS does not have the Darco wrap, It looks more like a smooth black laminate. So maybe they did in fact make a change. Doesnt help those with the problem, but I was happy to see it gone!

Mine is a 2014 and mfg in 10/13... Only one of the three slides has it mine and I have no issues thus far! I do keep a close eye on it.

Todouble, what unit do you have? Do you have the darco?

Blkcorvair, I seen some units with a smooth black bottom on the slides at the show, but they were not primetimes. Could you post a pic of your slide bottom?

I have a crusader 315. Two of my slides have the hard plastic bottom and the third slide had the Darco wrap on the edges. No signs of tearing yet

Hard plastic bottoms I like the sound of that.
So your 3rd slide is a wood bottom with darco tape on the ends and not a darco /cloth fabric weave wrap?

Slide out /Underside wearing

It just had the darco wrap on the edges. The entire bottom is all hard plastic. I don't think it's a darco tape. It more of the darco fabric.

I'll have to get some pics next time I'm out

Yes, I would like to see it.

Not entirely true. It can be caused by a screw protruding from the rub bar. It happened with mine as well as a few other 295RST owners.

Agree that a screw can damage the bottom but the picture posted has an area too wide to be caused by a screw. That picture is typical to many pictures shown on this post and appears to be as wide as the roller. Interesting that I have a wide worn area on one end of the slide but not the other. I may soon see if my slide can be adjusted to relieve the pressure at that roller.

Tiggerdad I will post a picture of the damage that was done to my slide as a result of the screw for reference. The wear on Ksilvi looks similar, although it is hard to tell. The damage to mine was closer to the 'inside' of the slide though whereas Ksilvi's appears to be the 'outside'.

Also I believe there is no roller on the super slides in Crusaders, but rather a rub bar. I am not sure about other Sanibel etc.

In either case Ksilvi visit your dealer right away and send pictures to PT. I will go and get some pictures of mine after repairs were done also.

Thanks Newfi-Pictures are always good. Your tear is different than mine. Yours on the edge and mine begins an inch in from the edge and is 3 1/2" wide. With difficulty I was able to pull back the rubber flap and saw the rub bar. I mistakenly thought that my super slide had a roller because my other slide does. What I don't understand is how a full width rub bar can wear a 3 1/2" wide spot 1" in from the edge yet the remainder of the bottom is unaffected..

Ksilvi's picture looks like ,mine.

High spot in the rub bar / who knows how true things are (wood bar ect.)
My wears on the end (3 to 5 inches.)
