camper1999 do you happen to know who at Prime Time worked with your dealer for the fix?

If we can't get a clear answer on this, perhaps someone should drop RV Guy a PM and have him give us the skinny on it. The few times I've contacted Roger at Prime Time I have been less than thrilled, he wasn't overly helpful.

Personaly Roger is the problem with PT!! Otherwise everyone else there was VERY helpful.

I avoid R every time I need to talk with someone at PT.

How about a 1/8" sheet of Teflon on the bottom of the slide. As long as there is room for it that should work great. Kind of like our lube plates for the fithwheel hitch.

Lynkage, I am happy to hear I am not alone in that feeling. Myself and my wife have dealt with a number of others at PT and have been thrilled with them.

I think something like you have suggested would work great. I'd be keen to hear what PT themselves think of this.

Once I hear back from the insurance company about an adjuster FINALLY coming to see me, I will combine the insurance work and this issue along with a few others with one visit to my dealer. I hope before then I can get some commitment from PT that this issue will be fixed and my dealer will be informed on what to do.

part number 10F009458 slide out repair panels.
. I talked to timberview rv.
Ed, told me the way forest river wraps the ends of the side with fabric the wood rots out. This part wraps around the side to protect that from happening.Mine also has wear in the center, Ed said they can be used there as well.
Now just have to get my dealer (general rv) and prime time to okay the work.
Or if prime time has a better idea ???

Nice work platokidd!

I'm pretty sure my general rv (small caps) dealer will not be as responsive as needed, (still waiting for them to reply to a different need), so I'll have to go to my own FR insiders as before.

This is something I can install myself, so If they are willing to ship me the kit, I'll be pleased.

Thanks!

Thanks for the legwork that is FANTASTIC!

My rig will go into the dealer in the next week so I will be sure to pass this information along. The street side slide is not wearing at all, I wonder if I asked the dealer to put this fix on both sides if PT will agree to it.

Greetings - we do NOT have any direct experience with a "trim piece" that is being discussed. Although, there are some divisions using various trim pieces on the ends of their slide rooms, we have not approved them for use on a Prime Time unit due to concerns that the part will damage the unit's flooring as the room moves in and out. I'm sure that some applications are fully tested and approved but we are not confident that this is a solution for the issue at hand on a Prime Time. However, we are researching this suggestion within Forest River to see if it does offer a viable solution to the wear concerns being discussed.

Thanks for chiming in RV Guy.
I hope Prime Time will come up with a viable fix as my black weaved material under my slides is coming apart as we speak. I think about it every time I push the switch.

Looking forward to a solution soon.

Thanks for dropping by and updating us. Like zs325RES, ours is wearing badly. Likely because we are using our Prime Time product so much!

Be sure to let us know once a decision is made on a solution so that the owners can inform their dealers as it seems many dealers lack the necessary information to properly repair the units.

Thanks for the update RV Guy. Please update us PT owners with a fix as soon as you can.
