Slide out /Underside wearing

Very interesting! As you know, that material can be pretty brittle. Are the guides not making contact with the "formica" when the slides are fully extended or fully retracted? If that can be done, I think it would reduce the likelihood of cracking the material during normal use stresses.

Yes the laminate is brittle but hard as needed.
The guide is not in contact with the laminate only when the room is all the way out. I butted the strips right up to the guide when the room was out before fastening. I did try prying the floor up from the guide so I could get the strips under there but you have to lift the whole room to do so. I believe the 'chamfer' I put on the leading edge worked well.

I've got two outings planned in the next two weeks so it will get cycled several times.

Looks interesting... I cant see the staples. Are you concerned about water getting threw the staples holes? If you do another one please take more pics of the process for us.

You mentioned above 4 weeks ago hat they were working on a solution for this. I have a 2013 Tracer 2670BHS. As far as I can tell , it has the FoorBrace because the rollers have tore the Darco tape, and the edges of the floor board are exposed and white in color.

Either way, it would appear that the edges of the floor board need to be sealed around the bottom edge of the slide to prevent water from wicking under the slide and under the black outer material or into the screw holes along the edge.

Very curious if I contact my dealer if they will get any kind of official fix from Prime Time?

I had a 2013 tracer 2670bhs and mine did not have the "floorbrace" product on it(laminated floor / darco fabric). It was wood and a black paint on it. Cant remember what the ends looked like, think it was tape but not sure.
Either way best to get it addressed by your dealer. Have them seal all the exposed areas and screw heads. Other wise you will have problems.

Ordered a new 2014 Crusader prior to knowing about the underside wearing issue. Took delivery two weeks ago. First thing to check was the underside of the slide outs. Not sure how many times the slides were opened and closed at the factory but from the couple of times they were opened at the dealer, they are already tearing. There is also a screw head that was not set right at the factory. As the slide retracts, the screw head makes contact with the floor and has put about a 10" tear in the floor. And I have not even used the trailer yet. Dealer said it would be covered under warranty but was unaware about the underside wearing. Still hoping to enjoy the trailer as both myself and my wife really like it. Just hoping this isn't the beginning of a long list of issues.

Welcome to the forum! sorry to hear about your units problems.
They all can have problems that have to be worked out or fixed.
Prime time makes a good unit.
But the slide wear is a problem that has to be delt with!!
Bet the 2015 or 2016 dont have this problem,

I had the same problem with the screws that hold down the heat registers making contact with the underside of the slide when it was in, I countersunk the register and changed the screws.

On mine, the screw head is located towards the edge of the slide that is almost inside the camper right on the corner. I found it when I was moving the seals around to find out what the fabric on the slide was sliding on. The screw does not make contact initially but on the roughly last 8-10" of movement in, the slide seems to "dive down" towards the floor. I put a piece of rug under the slide the last few times I opened and closed the slide. This prevents the screw head from contacting the floor. The screw head is buried just enough in the seals area that I cannot get a screwdriver to try and tighten or remove the screw.

I only have on side of one slide ripping and showing wood. Other than that all good! Prime time fixed any little issue with no hassle or problem for me. But I am dropping the unit off next week for the slide wear. Keep ya posted

Our rig is going to the dealer next week. One of the issues will be the slide wear. Although in my case the wear is likely caused by a screwhead. We will see.

Spent another night in our Prime Time product last night and I am happier each night that we use it that we chose Prime Time! Their customer service is simply outstanding as well.

It's worked great so far. We're using our 325RES now in Pentwater, MI
Absolutely beautiful weather in the most beautiful place, during the best time of year to glamp in the season.
I'll probably do the same to the kitchen slide as well.

Mine is going in for slide wear. Replace the fabric and adjust is what PT and dealer have said.

Maybe Crusader should look at the Rockwood fifth wheels slide out construction. Mine has a hard plastic covering the complete bottom on the slide out and a hard plastic material covering the part that touches the rollers when it is moving in and out.
