Spare tire suggestion

OK...so got myself a 2018 Avenger 26BH. Of course I find out no spare tire when I'm picking it up. Need to a tire and wheel ASAP....trip planned in just over a week. Suggestions on a good online place would be greatly appreciated.

also, it's not easy finding the tire size. Can someone confirm it's ST205/75R14/C? It's at my mom-in-laws place otherwise I'd just go look at the tire.

Sorry for the new guy question, but that's what I am right now.

Call your MIL and ask her to look at the tire for you. Or take a pic and email it to you.

Ha...well, if only it were that easy. She's not good with technology. I'll call the dealer tomorrow.

No kidding. I asked about it and they said "uh, no, it doesn't come with one" So I asked to buy one. Has to be ordered...that was two weeks ago and no call that it's arrived. Can't wait for needing service from them....insert sarcasm.

Amazing, if you bought that from a dealer then I would have to have a talk, either way it seems it's not a common practice to sell a TT without a spare...could be your bag, good luck.

If there is a tractor supply store near you you can buy one for about $100. That's where I bought mine at for my first camper. Just a thought.

Thats amazing to me that you received it without a spare. According to the specs from the manufacturer, it does indeed come with a spare. I'd have a serious talk with the dealer.

Spare tires are almost always an option.
Most dealers will order them with a spare but some dealers may choose not to, especially on entry level units.

PrimeTime's website clearly shows a spare tire as an option for the Avenger and Avenger is their entry-level TT line.
But my PT TracerAIR, a mid-level line, came standard with a spare tire.

Well make sure you have a jack and tools that will fit lugs! Standard 4 way wrench probably won't work. Usually requires thin walled 6 point socket.

I know the Gulfstream Ameri-lite I had did not come with a spare tire. But the dealer told me that it would be cheaper for me to buy on then him ordering one.

Did you check underneath the RV, some have spares stored there rather than on the back bumper.

Yeah, well I call it lesson learned. Sales guy never mentioned no spare, I assumed it would have one and now I'm on the hunt. No sense complaining. Just gotta find one and move on down the road. Thanks for the tips. I'll check the lugs. I did buy a four way but haven't checked for fit. Looks like I'll be making a trip to mom-in-laws this weekend to have a look at the lug size. I was fully prepared for service being sub par from any dealer and quality being questionable for anything in my price range. I'm still gonna enjoy it.

Going forward, if it's a ST205/75x14, you can order a wheel from etrailer.com or buy one locally - 14X5.5 with a 5 on 4.5 lug pattern. If you live in an area where there are tire stores it should be easy to buy a spare. Many of us are switching to Goodyear Endurance or Carlisle HD tires.

Good Luck

that size tire and rim is pretty common and can be found in stock at most Tractor Supply stores

Keep in mind that many of us step up to load range D tires on that size rig... so keep that in mind... you may upgrade your stock tires and you can keep one of them to put on a rim for a spare, or buy a LRD spare now...

many tire threads recently... I just put LRD Endurance tires subbing for the LRC stock tires on my less than 5,000# gross weight Shamrock

got the spare from Tractor Supply Co today. wasn't sure if the hubs are 4.5 or 5 inch. It's amazing how little info on the specs are available online from Prime Time. Very disappointing. Got 4.5 because that's what they had....if it doesn't fit then I'll return it. Have to wait until this coming weekend to check.

I personally would have told them to pound sand until there was a spare and never hooked to it.
