Waiting is hard to do ...

We ordered our new 325 RES at the end of Oct knowing it would be Jan before we got it delivered. Even with knowing that ... waiting sux!

So much camping to do so little time

Hey RVGuy ... Is my unit being built this week or next? All I heard with the initial order was that it would off-line mid-December.

The wait will be well worth it the first time you walk thru your new Crusader 325 RES. We only had to wait 7 weeks for our Sabre but knowing we were getting a camper built with the options we wanted in the color we wanted was worth it for us. Congrats and just remember, every day is a day closer to delivery .

DnD - your unit is at the transporter. We never really know specifics on delivery, but it should be there within a week at the latest.

Enjoy your new Crusader and thanks for your business.

Update ...

Our PDI is scheduled for 12/29. The dealership in Tucson has an RV Park attached so we are booked in for 12/29 thru 1/1 for the shakedown.

New Years party at our new house on wheels!!

Thanks again to PTM for this unexpected early delivery!

Apparently it wasn't too hard to convince a driver in Indiana to go to Arizona in December - very awesome news.

No ... The dealer could be ready this Friday if we could have been.

I wasn't expecting the trailer to be delivered until after 1/1 and with family in town for the holidays the 29th was soonest we could have the availability to do the PDI and have a 2 or 3 day shakedown.

No kidding huh? Can't say as I blame them.

The north is pretty and all, but dealing with freezing temps and that dreaded white stuff (snow & salt) is why I live in AZ.

The dealer was kind enough to send a few pics...more interior pics to come once the battery is installed.

DnD,
I looked at these units, as we are going to replace our toy hauler in 2013. They are real nice set up. I love the 4 windows on the slide and the TV above the fireplace.

Jester,

There are quite a few of the FR brands that make a similar floor plan. We chose the Crusader over the others because of the things you liked as well as the huge shower, large pantry, available 12' refer and WD hook ups. After 15 months of research, trips to RV shows and dealers we are really happy.

I started to interact with a number of folks at PTM in an effort to finalize this choice and I have to say they are truely responsive and understand what customer service is. Watching how RVGuy interacts with folks here on FRF and the many many successful outcomes to issues was another reason I don't think anyone could ever go wrong going with a PTM product. They also put so many more higher end features in their trailers than most other brands.

All that being said ... I don't have the trailer yet. I haven't camped in it yet. So all of the above is still just conjecture on my part. Check back with me in 4 months after I have spent 20 or so days camping in the unit and I can give more real use feedback.

If you go with a non-toyhauler what are you and the Mrs gonna do with the bikes?

DnD,
We have the TH for 2 years and have only put the bikes in to set up the wheel chocks. We have been on about 6 trips on the Harleys (over 15,000 miles) since we got the TH and have always rode and stayed at hotels. Silly me. We do like the XLR it has a great living room set up and the trailer has been great with no issues. That beening said, we like to ride!!

Jester,

That's too funny. Well I really think that you'll like this layout alot.

Send me a note anytime if you need more info or have any questions as you get ready to buy.

If I can offer a suggestion, make sure you get a full and comprehensive PDI from the dealer and not just a quickie "walk-through". There have been many posts here in the forum where faults that ruined the first camping expedition could have and should have been discovered before the rig ever left the dealer's lot!

To test and check everything took us 3+ hours with a tech at our dealer (Liberty RV, Liberty, MO), and we took care of several minor flaws at that time and made sure all systems were working 100%. They even marked the position of all the water valves behind the docking port with a permanent marker so I don't have to rely on memory to position them for winterizing.

As I was also new to 5th wheels, they insisted I hook-up and unhook a couple of times before towing it off the lot.

Our shake-down was a month-long trip to AZ last March and we only discovered 1 flaw (a missing screw and a bad joint) in the skirting thanks to that thorough session with an expert tech.
