2012 Tadpole/OMI Rally

Never too early to start planning for camping next year. Winterized the trailer this weekend so now it is time to start planning for next year. I have not picked a time for the 2012 Tadpole but with all of your input I have chosen a central location in the "Tri-State-Area" (I hope I do not get sued by Disney for that one).

The 2012 Tadpole/OMI Rally will be at:

Ouabache State Park (pronounced "Wabash")
4930 E. St. Rd. 201
Bluffton, Indiana 46714

Ouabache State Park, an Indiana State Park near Bluffton, Decatur

We have never camped here before and I welcome input from anyone who has. It appears to be a nice place but if anyone has any bad experiences from there it is not to late to change the location.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again from this past rally as well as meeting new faces.
I am leaning towards a late May/early to mid June weekend timeframe. More to follow on a date, I can only make so many decisions at once and I use most of them up at w@$?.

Tentcamper1,

Do you have any input on Ouabashi State Park. If there are no objections we will finalize the location and set the date for May 17-21st, 2012.

sounds good to me. we like the park, good places to ride bikes and hike. I would recommend we stay in the "A" loop. the "B" loop used to be primitive, now electric, and is a little tight.
we are going there next weekend weather permitting.
as far as dates- the only weekend (5-18-12) we have planned for next year is the one before Memorial Day (5-28-2012). Don't know if we could do Memorial Day weekend there, that would be my vote, or try the weekend after.

M day at a state park where everyone has to make there own reservations for a group location is a recipe for disaster! The weekend after would be June. May 17-21 works for us. Just saying. Youroo!!

Another option in May would be Mother's Day weekend. That is often the first weekend of the season for us, sometimes the weather isn't the greatest but we can try then? YouRoo and Tentcamper1 let me know your thoughts/schedules as well as anyone else.

they both would work for us. I think youroo has a point about getting sites on Memorial Day.

Bob,

Thanks for the offer. Once we chose a date I'll be in touch with you to discuss how we take the "tadpole rally" to the next level with your valuable assistance.

Youroo,

That's too funny, especially since OMI stands for "Odor Management Industries" What are you trying to imply here???

OK, down to serious business (now that we have a world headquarters we have to get to w*$@). Let's set the date for the rally to:

May 10th thru 14th, 2012 (Thursday thru Monday)
Ouabache State Park (pronounced "Wabash")
4930 E. St. Rd. 201
Bluffton, Indiana 46714

As Tentcamper1 suggested we will make reservations to stay in the "A" loop.

If it's cold the middle of May Youroo can enlist his Cupid Girls to keep us warm.
