Looking forward to picking up our new Brookshire we "won" at the tadpole rally. Already sold our camper, if it's not ready, will have to stay with Frog Bob and Cindy till its ready.

Sorry, Randy, I guess I wasn't listening or something.
(BTW, it's Berkshire. I guess we couldn't figure out what you'd won and had to give it to someone else. Better luck next time!)

Berkshire, Brookshire close enough. Tell Rascal to move over, I'm in the dog house with him.

Lou- glad you made it safe. I thought all that stuff appeared when you kiss a frog. Oh wait no the frog turns into a prince and then he pays someone to do it for you....hence FROG Bob bribing Lou to do this.

Could have been us as not 50 miles earlier we were almost clipped by a black car cutting us off after a botched pass. Young kid. I hope it was not him.
Suckie day indeed. Goshen tomorrow. (Yea!)

Herk: pickup and horse trailer. Driver and 3 horses died. Also involved semi and a car. Someone passing a slow driver pickup swerved to avoid rolled TV and horse trailer. Sad but 7 horses survived. Driver was a polo rider on his way to a polo match

1st time attendee. Looking forward to the rally. Coming from Iowa. Mapquest and Google Maps tell me to get off of the tollway quite a bit west of South Bend, near Michigan City. Or is it best to stay on the tollway till north of Goshen and head south on Route 15?
Or is there better?

Herk...sorry to hear about your bad day. Hope tomorrow will be better for you guys...btw...I was thinking of you earlier. We are camping just a few miles from Lakehurst Navel Air Station and we keep seeing a C130 (or maybe more than one) circling overhead low and slow. Not sure what their doing, but very cool to watch.
See you in Goshen in a few days

Not sure either. A lot has changed in the 10 years I have been out.
Lakehurst (McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst JRB) may very well be the last GCA equipped training base left in the USA.

Your best bet IMO is to ignore the GPS and get off at exit 107 and go south through Middlebury. Beautiful drive; just stay alert for the Amish buggies and horses please.
Depart I-80 via Exit 107 on Ramp IN-13 / US-131 / Middlebury
Turn RIGHT (South) onto IN-13 10.4 mi
Turn RIGHT (West) onto IN-4 [Philip T Warner Hwy] 4.3 mi
Turn LEFT (South) onto County Road 29
RIGHT (West) onto County Road 34 [E Monroe St]
Arrive Elkhart Co. 4-H & Agriculture Exposition, Inc. [17746-D CR 34, Goshen IN 46528, United States, Tel: +1(574)533-3247]

I may have missed it, but does anyone know if there will be another garage sale like last year?

Update: Someone here told us that they were being used by the Delaware Air National Guard. Does that make sense?

There are several Military Training Low Level Routes (MTRs) to Coyle Drop Zone (located on RT72) pass south of Toms River (the inbound course to the DZ passes just south of Barnegat Lighthouse; but none I am aware of that are around the Lakehurst area.
My guess is still "traffic pattern" work at the runways there.
It takes years of environmental impact studies to get new ones approved.
It would not be unusual for either McGuire or Dover (or even the Guard at Wilmington to "inherit" management of the SR routes (like SR800, SR801 and a few VR Routes (like VR707) that used to be managed by my unit at Willow Grove NAS/JRB before it closed.

Nice place here, just relaxing after 5 days on the road and one China bomb problem.

Herk's route through Middlebury is a good one, but coming from the west, getting off at the Bristol / Hwy 15 exit is also a good route. You'll come into the small town of Bristol, and have a right and left turn combo to continue on 15. Once in Goshen, you'll cross over the railroad tracks on an overpass and continue past the courthouse until you turn on US33 south. (There's a traffic light there, and a CVS Pharmacy on the corner. South to the high school, then left at the light in front of the school.
The GPS route will get you onto Highway 20, a generally good route but one where you have to watch for several turns to get into and around South Bend. It does get you off of the toll road sooner.

We are all packed and hitting the road to Goshen. Everyone please drive safe and don't drive faster than your angle can fly.
