Joe if it was Tuesday morning, we didn't come out till noon at least after the Typhoon came thru Monday nite. yea I didn't wear my hearing aids very much there. But I did know to go to the Bath houses for a safe room. I got that much from the Reg briefing.

That sounds about right. We were parked right under a siren / PA speaker on Maple Street. It was like the voice of God echoing in our GTS...

Be thankful, when the tornado came 4 years ago, there were no sirens

The siren was tested on Wed or Thur before the rally began on Sunday. Most folks had not arrived yet. I was on the parking team and it did give me a big scare until I realized it was a test. I was on duty, so it had to be early afternoon. I did the 12-4 shift.

Sirens are tested every Wednesday at 2pm, so you were right in there.

I missed it. (Wednesday noon is when ours is tested at home, every week it's not raining). But a side story.......funny now.
A good place to fish around here in the winter is the Arkansas River around Dardanelle, at Arkansas Nuclear One nuke plant. They discharge warm water as part of the process, and in winter fish love it. And yes it's perfectly safe.
First time we went there, we were within 500 yards of it, in a fairly small boat......and catching fish. Suddenly a siren went off that sent ripples across the calm water......seriously! And it kept going off. Two guys with a 25 horse motor....4 miles from where we launched? We're toast!
Then we realized.......no one is worried. Workers are calmly walking around the parking lot.........
????
Guess what it was?
Lunch Break!!!

Bob did warn everyone that the system is tested every week. Everyone should have known it was a test.

Even still, just before they went off they did announce they'll be testing them. Went something like this:
"We are required to test our emergency alert system, the following will be a test."
Alarms go off
"That was a test."

Actually we were parking in N1 with tom5er on test day. There was no verbal pretest announcement, but the sirens Did work.
And we're looking forward to working again next year. Travel Well.
