With all the RV's at the Balloon Fest I'd think they would have a pump out service for the longer term visitors.
RedLdr1, I just found the following information on the Balloon Fiesta's website:

Quote:
There is a 3rd party vendor available for pumping and fills at an additional cost per service.
We will only be taking Credit Cards and Checks at our RV sites this year.

Thank you, that is good to know! My grey tank would never make it four days...

It appears that there might be a couple of people who were in the process of purchasing tickets and for some reason backed out. I'm going to be reviewing the transactions and, if a couple of spots are available, will contact the first people on the standby list.

I may fit that... when I couldn't get the second adult to accept (said either that the second adult was sold out or not available, I backed out, cleared cache and tried again - twice...
On my third attempt, I got offered the wait list.

That pretty much describes what we saw as well...

Ken and Debbie, I've been going through the waiting list in order and have filled the remaining spots. With that completed, you are 4th on the standby list.

When Bob setup the first rally in the Southwest we couldn’t go because of previous commitments. I swore if he ever did a similar trip I wouldn’t let it get passed me again. Lo and behold he sets up another southwest rally and wouldn’t you know it we have other commitments again. This time we will be on a British Isles cruise and won’t return to the U.S. until October 1st.

By strange coincidence, the ship will dock in Cork, Ireland which is the birthplace of my great grandfather on my birthday.

I've started looking around for info on the different events. Here are a few links I've found useful regarding the Balloon Fest:

Main Website: ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA®

The RV Specific information is Here.

The Balloon Fest Daily Events Schedule is Here.

The Balloon Fest Guest Guide is Here.

The Albuquerque City Visitors Website is Here.

The 2018 Albuquerque City Visitors Guide is Here.

I'm still looking for more info on the Grand Canyon. Most of the info I've found so far is on the NPS website.

If you need a National Park Pass don't wait too long to order it. When I ordered a Lifetime Senior Pass last night the website stated it could take up to 30 days for delivery. There is enough demand for passes the NPS has outsourced the on-line ordering to a 3rd party.

Thanks for all the info. Is there an issue with just buying the Grand Canyon park permit once there?

Not that I'm aware of...

I just wanted to avoid the possibility of waiting in a long line to get one, or finding an office closed, after driving all day!

I picked up a life time pass. Covers entrance to many parks and a 50% discount on camping at COE campgrounds. Last trip the best campground I was in was a COE - under $20/night for a huge FHU site in a beautiful campground. Only downside, if important to you, no wifi or cable TV. Discounted camping covered the cost of the pass in under a year.

Here's a list of hundreds of locations throughout the U.S. where you can buy NPS passes. Call to be sure about hours and availability of a specific pass.
