Free Beer on Beer tasting night at the PPST compound tops the cake so to speak! Bring some share some. the Highlight of the rally is the late night cart rides checking to see who is sleeping! The lady PPST do this and you thought the men where bad!!! This gives Frog Bob near ulcer status but somehow it manages to work out.

2019 FROG International Rally: August 11-17, 2019

That’s right. KenandTerry got it right. This is not a fan. It’s a phart blowing machine. It will be raffled off this year to raise money for a local charity in the Goshen area. Stay tuned for details.

I firmly stand by my personal belief that if the main reason you attend the rally is for "free" service, you will be doing everyone a favor by staying home and letting that spot be open for someone who wants to enjoy the week of fun and fellowship.

Tim
Free service was not how we look at it. We bought our rigs and have been left to the dealers to service them. Sometimes they don't know or don't have the ability to figure out what's wrong so it was nice to be able to come to the rally where the manufacturers that built it could fix them. It was a perk and I personally know a few that didn't attend last year because the trip was far to expensive to not get a problem resolved on their rig.
As far as last year's 650 rigs, some was because the system crashed and they decided it wasn't worth using their credit card knowing they may lose their money and others was because FR went cheap on them and not offered service. My wife and I will not be attending because the luster is no longer there. It showed on the factory tours.

First timer - international rally

Since we just purchased our new Sunseeker and live in Florida I was wanting some feedback on this event. Is it worthwhile to attend and drive the long distance? How are the facilities there?
Thanks in advance for helping the newbie

For a first timer I am sure you would like it plus lots to see in the surrounding area plus make some new friends!!!!!!! You are guaranteed at least a 30amp water & electric hook up with one pump out service mid-week, or if you get lucky maybe a full hook up site ( all by chance ). Folks come from all over so your not alone in driving far, hopefully others will add their comments.

My reason for attending is the knowledge on maintaining your rig that is available. Between the vendors and FR people, I have learned a lot on proper maintenance and how to diagnose some potential problems. I've won a couple of meters and was given a great supply of electrical connectors, roof treatment, etc. Large group of vendors selling all kinds of maintenance and upgrade products - brakes to carpets to cleaning products and nick-naks.

Then the fun of trying to get into trouble at the Tiki hut or hanging out with some of the Phat Phrogs just adds to the experience. Also was able to get an individual wheel weigh of my rig to make sure I was setup properly. All good reasons to attend.

Then touring the area - picked up some great Amish cheese and sausage and at a leather worker, the best belt I've bought in a long time, and at lower cost than most stores with lower quality.
Recognize, you will be one of 7 to 8 HUNDRED rigs attending, so you aren't gettting a 60' wide site with lots of trees, you'll most likely get a 15' wide spot in a fairly level field. TV or toad parking in front of your rig. Road aisles are adequately wide. Rally is at a fairgrounds. For the two years I've attended, power and water were stable and more than adequate for my needs - better than a couple of KOA's I've been at. The rally management has the setup routine down cold - you will probably be on your site within 20 minutes of pulling into the fairgrounds, simply amazing.

Thanks this is very helpful. Sounds like something I want to sign up for. It appears that sign ups are in April unless I missed it already.

No, you haven't missed open registration. You must be a member of FROG which is not this forum. See post #115 for a link to the FROG site.

Last year was my first year. I drove about 6 hours. Didn't know what to expect. Wife didn't want to go. But, I had a great week and have convinced the wife to join me this year. I was parked with other similar make and models. As owners, we shared and learned lots. The seminars were very informative, for me. The tech service was appreciated. The vendors had many useful products. The factory tour was interesting. Free time allowed me to venture out and discover an Amish furniture compant that I later purchased from in October, and the food was plentiful...maybe not gourmet. It was worth every penny, in my opinion.

As I say to anyone who chooses not to go to the rally mainly because the lack of free service... I will be looking forward to meeting the people who will take your spot.
