I was just going through reading all of the posts. I grew up in Florida camping in a StarCraft popup. We wee in the Florida chapter, and we went to the Rally every year. This brings back a lot of memories! Sounds like a fantastic time! My wife and I love St. Augustine, when we started dating it was our weekend getaway trip from Tampa. Enjoy!

Good afternoon Bill, I haven't received your email about the updates for the rally. We talked earlier this week about my email address change. Please try sending again.

I sent it again. Maybe check your spam folder. Here is a copy

Since we are at the 3 month point for the rally I wanted to bring everybody up to speed. So far, everything is still a go for the rally. Old Town Trolley Tours has implemented a number of new safety measures such as plexiglass partitions in between every row of seating, complimentary face coverings and an increased focus on disinfecting and sanitation. I have been told there has been a slight price
increase as was expected but they are still picking everybody up at the campground.

I was in contact with the campground today and all the amenities are open including the pool, restrooms and laundry. The only exception is the clubhouse. However, as of now, it is going to be available for rally groups with reduced capacity. Unfortunately this means some of us may have to sit outside but this is subject to change.

I am still firming up a few things but will send out an itinerary when things are finalized. Remember, if you wish to have extra days either before or after the rally you need to contact Barbara at Compass RV Resort and pay for those days separately. Their number is 904 824-3574. If you are staying extra days and have not done so already, please shoot me an email to let me know what the dates are.

There are new rules in place imposed by the city of St. Augustine. For those who did not receive a copy of the letter from Compass RV Resort here is the body:

Manager’s Memo June 26, 2020

Compass RV is now requiring that a face covering be worn while inside any of our facilities. This requirement is an added measure of safety for our guests and staff. THIS APPLIES TO ANY INDOOR SPACE at the resort.

The City of St. Augustine has also issued a resolution requiring masks to be worn indoors, effective as of 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, June 27. “Every person working, living, visiting, or doing business in the City of St. Augustine shall wear a face-covering in any indoor location, other than their home or residence, when not maintaining social distancing from other person(s), excluding family members or companions.”

With this resolution, the city hopes to slow the transmission of the coronavirus, without closing businesses. There are some exceptions, including people under 2 years old, people for whom a face covering would cause impairment due to an existing health condition, and in places where it is possible to maintain social distancing. Face coverings must cover the nose and mouth and must remain in place without being held up.

T shirt design is still in the works but expect the ordering to be ready soon.

Everything is still a go. It has been requested we don't do any pot lucks due to too many people handling utensils but that won't stop a few of us from eating together like the mini rallies have been doing. Catered dinner is still a go but we may need to solicit volunteers to serve with mask and gloves for the same reason. More to follow soon.

Our RPod rally on Jekyll Island planned for back in April had to be cancelled by the campground due to group size limits, but we had planned to not have our Podluck meals and just have everyone bring their own meals and dining supplies. Also to bring our own chairs and little side tables so we could gather together outdoors around the big campfire ring and safely spread out to eat.

Cancellation Probable

In light of the recent rally cancellations for both the International Rally and the Cajun Christmas Rally, it is very likely our rally will also be cancelled. I am waiting for FROG Bob to make the official announcement. Currently the percentage of those infected by the Covid-19 virus is not getting better and even though the county St. Augustine is in is still under the target mark there have been many restrictions placed on people traveling in and out of the state with some states requiring a 14 day quarantine if spend the night and you have been in Florida.

Rest assured, if the rally is cancelled, everybody who registered will get a full refund and Bob will provide an email to all those who registered with what needs to be done. Also, we are planning to hold the rally next year and may look into October as the weather will be a little cooler. First opportunity next year to register will go to those who are currently registered prior to opening it up to the rest of the FROG members.

Assuming the rally does get cancelled, those who still wish to come down and camp Sept. 24, 25 and 26 may do so and pay the campground directly. You would need to speak with Barbara. I know there are a lot of people who are on the fence about doing this as the majority of us are in the over 65 age bracket and CDC recommendations of not having groups of more than 10 people.

For those of you who paid for extra days, I spoke with Barbara this morning and she will issue a full refund without penalty if you will not be using those days. Her number at Compass RV Resort is 904 824-3574

Here is a link to the current state by state travel restrictions that you may be able to make use of. https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/u...-19/index.html

If you have any questions, please contact me.

2020 FROG Fest Rally

I took it the mean from the email you sent late last week that the Florida Rally was officially canceled. Wife and I had planned on staying a couple days at Gulf State Park before driving over to St. Augustine. With the news received in your email we made reservations at Coastal RV Resort in Brunswick beginning the 24th of September.

Rally is Officially Cancelled

Here is part of the email that FROG Bob is sending out to all who have registered. If you have not received it, let me know I will forward the email to you

"This notice is going to everyone registered for the FROG Florida Fun Fest.

After monitoring the Covid case rate and the restrictions on gatherings currently in place in Florida, and after speaking several times with Bill Duff, I have decided that we will cancel the 2020 Florida FROG Fest in St. Augustine. Although I regret having to make that decision, the safety of our members and of everyone else involved in putting on a rally has to be the primary consideration. The inability to maintain social distancing at several of the rally facilities and tours also contributed to the decision. I appreciate your support and understanding.

Bill is understandably disappointed, particularly in light of the work that he and Becca have put into the event, but he understands and agrees with the need for the decision.

I will be cancelling your registration for the rally and issuing a full refund of your registration fee within the next few days"

Please read your email for further details. If you have any questions you can PM me, email or call me. My email and phone are listed on the FROG website.

Hope we will see most of you next year and we will do our best to make it a fun and successful rally.

Bill, Becca and the furry kids.

Frog Rally

Disappointed that the rally was cancelled, but will look forward to the rally next year. Hope that all this virus crap is over with soon...Guess my rv travels will be just the better half and I along with the Dog....Can still have some fun and enjoy the outdoors while camping and still social distancing....Not as much fun as with a group, but better than just vegging out at home...
