Welcome to Ohio! You are close to Cedar Point Amusement park home of some the best roller coasters around. (I can't do them any more, but we had a great camping stay there a month or so ago.

3 more days of work for me, we head out Sunday morning around 7am. Hope to be there at noon.

For those coming from the east, the Ohio Turnpike I-80) has rv lots in every other service plaza. 20/30/50 amp power at each site and a dump station. $20 per night

I didn't know that and I live in Ohio. The Service plaza are owned by the state but they lease much of it out. I assume its a first come first served?

We arrived Monday for volunt"Welcome Team" training.. My wife will be working in Registration and I will be helping with RV Parking in the Meadow and Ring Road camping areas. Those of you who are 1st timers will soon know where those areas are.

We'll start escorting early arrivals to their sites, tomorrow morning ~ 8:30. We've been trained to say stuff like, "Welcome to the Rally", instead of "How was your trip". It's not that we don't care... we just need to keep the line moving.

Yes... they are first come first serve, but we've used these at least a couple of times going a year between Mich and NJ and have always found a spot.... But...we also usually stop pretty early in the day like by 4:00P. Even with that, we've never seen them full...... so maybe it was dumb of me to share this.....Nevermind. I made it all up.

Funny! I pass through those travel plazas on rare occasions, never with a camper since its just over 100 miles to my house. I'll check those out. Look forward to meeting you and every other staff/guest on Sunday. I may stand out being in an Explorer with a pop up behind it. We hope to be there around noon Sunday

Hahahah, all made up! I checked the spots out last time though, not bad, far enough away from highway it wouldn't be TOO horrible. But wife got spoiled with Harvest Host sites and will never stay in a parking lot anymore. She never slept well in the parking lots, she feels like a victim waiting to happen. Despite my spending my whole life being paid to train and practice handling people 'situations', she still is uncomfortable hanging out in a trailer in lot like a big matzo ball. I think she watches too much ID channel crap.

Concrete floor means it’ll be harder on the knees when you crawl home.

After leaving NH yesterday morning after traveling through what is left of VT and halfway through NY,we have stopped only a few hours away for the night. Saw lots of trucks on the way pulling all sizes of campers. And a variety of class A's and C's being pushed by small cars. 😀😀 Our first rally as well. Can't wait!

Showers are decent, there are 3 locations with showers, once you arrive I am sure someone will be able to point you to the best location for where you are parked.

Jeff has offered some good info but parking will start at 9am, this year and close at 7pm. Just don't want someone waiting at the check in early thinking we forgot them

The rv spots at the rest areas are not bad but they say nothing over 40' so plan ahead just in case and yes, first come first serve and exact change $20 cash only no cards paid in a kiosk near the parking spots.

A couple of good points Rennie. Thanks

We're at 38ft and fit ok, but 40 is the posted limit. And I've seen longer rigs park diagonally to make the length fit..very annoying and unfair to others.

And I guess I was just getting anxious, but wasn't trying to alter the parking arrival plan.

Travel safe everyone.

After 7 marathons my knees are still the only thing that works well. Finding our camper will be hard for this rookie.
