No problem, we had to re-set the link Friday before we left the office, glad it worked for you finally.

Hi Bob,
Looking forward to our 1st Rally in our new Ahara.
Do you recommend arriving for pre-rally activities?
Will there be a mile long line getting in on Sunday morning?
Thanks.

Not a lot of activities pre-rally, unless you count all the parking activity (which can be fun) We are expecting around 120 units to arrive on Sunday, but the line moves pretty quick and doubt you will encounter a long line.

Not sure that I have ever seen more than 6 or so waiting in line and that was a saturday afternoon. Just be sure to get there before 5, especially on sunday or everyone will be gone to dinner. But they let parking eat first so they can get back out there.

Last year, our first, there was corn on the cob brought in somebody's truck. It was very good, is that an annual thing?

The couple times we went, they always had the corn truck. I missed out on it last year. Good deal, corn here is about a buck an ear now in NJ, a little less if you buy a full dozen.

Yes. Many spots along OH turnpike (rest areas) have hookups, 20 bucks a night. Nice deal. I've looked at the spots on previous trips, they are good spots and far away enough from highway to not be too loud. If I ever go back that way again, I will use them, as I'm cancelling my Harvest Host membership.

Yes, the gentleman that brings the corn visited yesterday while we were parking the volunteers and the corn is on order, look for him around the vendor building just not sure what day. He should come twice with the corn

Agree with Kris but he spots say nothing over 40' but you can unhook and park your truck alongside the camper Heading west the rv spots start at the 2nd rest plaza then every other one

My understanding is that the corn comes from Sweet Corn Charlie's. If you miss the free give-away, you can make a run to one of their farm stands:
Sweet Corn Charlies | Locations & Hours
My DW's method of cooking sweet corn:
1. Cut the stem end of the cob such that you remove about 1 row of kernels.
2. Microwave on high for 1 minute - do each ear separately.
3. Wait 1 minuted.
4. Pull the husk and silks off.
5. Enjoy.
Doing it this way, avoids the fun of husking the corn first. And, usually, all the silk comes off together - a lot less messy than husking first.
If serving corn to a larger number of people, like at a picnic, Get a larger can that is taller than the corn cobs. Nearly fill the can with very hot water. Drop some chunks of butter into the water. Butter the corn by dunking into the can. You will get an even coat of butter every time.

Jersey corn is so good, doesn't need butter. MY DW (domestic woman) got me to switch to eating it naked, don't miss the butter and salt at all. I have to admit though that Indiana corn is just about as good!

Is there more than one entrance to the fairgrounds and is there a designated entrance for the Rally?
We will be coming in from the East on 34/E. Monroe St. that looks to be on the North side of the fairgrounds.
Has anyone made the trek west across 20 from the Ohio line to the fairgrounds?
Is that a viable route? I heard I-80/90 was really rough in Indiana.
