Heading out tomorrow also, however, it's 600+ miles for us so a stop 2/3 of the way is appropriate. See Y'all early afternoon on Thursday. Frog's be hopping yer way!

We will roll in before noon on Friday. Sign me (Randy) up for the cornhole tournament and I pity my partner. I play once a year--at this event.

Fee has been paid but don't have the confirming email yet. I guess we're in!

Latest Weather Prediction

First is Accuweather and below is Weather.com
Hope the flood warning doesn't pertain to us. Weather channel says flooding of the Iowa River near Marengo which doesn't look too far away.

We are in route with an ETA of Wed afternoon. Left Sault Ste. Marie at 10 this morning and now just north of Appleton, WI.
Can you say RAIN? Yup, all day today.

Any thoughts on the best route for me to avoid the high water in Cedar Rapids? When I come out of WI at Dubuque, should I do HWY61 all the way to I80, or can I do HWY151 to HWY1 to I80?
Thanks.

Stay away from Cedar Rapids. From Dubuque....
If you prefer a nice divided highway, 61 South to I-80, then west.
Mostly 4 lane, some 2 lane (a bit shorter). 151 South, to Route 30. Route 30 west to 151. 151 south to the Amanas. (You will be far enough south Cedar Rapids and the road closures).

I was wondering about routing as well. I am coming from the IL/WI border and my GPS routed me up to around Milwaukee and then over 94 and down. Not sure if it's the fastest route or the best. The other route (without tolls) would be to go through the city (Chicago) and down to I80. I was also thinking of perhaps taking Rt 173 to I90 in Rockford, IL and then I39 down to I-88. Would save a few tolls. Any ideas?

What city are you starting from? My dad lives near Rt. 173 and I-90 (Antioch, IL), so I am familiar with that area.

I'll be taking hiway 30 from 35 miles east of Cedar Rapids and right on through Cedar Rapids straight to Amana.

My wife drives it everyday.
She'll let me know if there's an issue, but for now and to my knowledge hiway 30 is no issues through Cedar Rapids.

We will arrive Wednesday afternoon. Coming from Algona, Ia via hwy 169. Can we take hwy 20 to 380, or go on down to I80 across? Summertime told us 20 had high water.
