I will have it replaced in the driveway by the weekend (4 bolts and 4 wires).

Then get the camper ready and we should definitely make the Rally.
So glad to hear, Floyd is a good man. So the tension rubber ripped ? Who would have thought that could even happen, see ya soon.

Well I am sad to say we just cancelled our Rally reservation. It would have been our first and we were looking forward to attending.
We will be finalizing the purchase of a used SOB Class A. Only 38k miles on it.
I will keep an eye on the frog pond. You all have been helpful over the past five years (has it been that long?) to bring us from newbie first time RVers.

What is a SOB Class A? A new brand. LOL
Good job. I would have saved myself at least $150,000 if I decided to go earlier for a Class A.
Good luck.

I must have hit some road trash and it blew out my tire. A large strip of tread wrapped around the axle and like a winch crushed the torsion rubber rods in the axle and broke the end retainer.

You can see the impact marks on the axle and the broken retention ring; you can also see some of the extruded rubber at the break.

That flailing piece of rubber also trashed the slide skirt and ripped the fender trim off.

Interestingly enough, the blowout sucked the stem right out of the rim (you can see the light shining through the hole in the picture of the tire).

We can’t make the “Big One” aka FROG INTERNATIONAL this year, but I just reviewed the agenda and vendors listing and I’m exhausted. 😴

Get lots of sleep folks......looks like you’re gonna need it!

Does anyone know if the fairground office will receive packages for us (if we let them know in advance)? It looks like the closest Amazon locker is in Mishawaka. I don't know if we'll need it or not, but with a brand new RV, it would be nice to know that we've got options!

Gee, thanks. Not sure yet what we'll need - since it's a new rig, I have no idea what we'll be forgetting/needing!

Remember all those vendors will be willing to help us find things we need and don't know we need. Looks like lots of shopping opportunities.

Just FYI, there will be an "RV stuff that I no longer need" yard sale at the rally...typically it has been held on Friday morning, the last full day of the rally. Might be a chance for you to pick up some new "stuff" for your new unit.

BTW, congratulations on the new unit. The fair office will PROBABLY accept a package or two for you if you ask them, but this week, with the fair underway, is probably not the best time to ask. Wait until at least Tuesday, Aug. 7. They should have had a few days to decompress by then.

Thanks, Mike. I didn't think that this week was the best to call - we'll just check when we get there, and if all else fails, then we drive to Mishawaka! Maybe we'll be incredibly good planners and have that U-Haul filled with everything we need.

Last year I had Amazon packages delivered to the fairgrounds. They were waiting when I arrived. I called the fairgrounds ahead of time to make sure I had their correct mailing address.
