Somebody had time to watch movies over wifi in the trailer. I need a vacation from my vacation.
I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms though. I am not sure what not beer though as they let me back into Canada with the leftovers. Likely all the social aspects but maybe the 3/4 lb donuts from Rise n Roll. Or all the food on the Amish brown bag tour etc etc.

Ya know... for a few days after the rally, it's hard not striking up conversations with strangers and asking them where they are from and what rig do they own...

Cindy and I stayed over last night and will be here tonight before heading back up to Middlebury in the morning. We spent yesterday working with some volunteers picking up and packing up, sorting items to be stored for next year, and going out to dinner last night.
I think it was a great week, made even better by the great work of so many generous volunteers all week. Thanks to one and all who so freely offered their help.
We were happy to see many old friends, and excited that nearly 40% of this year's attendees were first timers. It's great to see that level of growth and excitement, and that so many of them were also anxious to help out with many of the activities throughout the week.
As for Petrolia, ON, the rumors are true. We met with Mike and Michelle yesterday to look over their plans, and will be announcing something soon for next June. Announcements for other events will be coming soon as well.

So its sounds like all went very well. Very few post about the rally and actually even about the dinners and when next years event will take place. Big secret I guess. No body wanted to post or you did not announce. Later RJD

Hmm, maybe next years dates are classified on a "need to know basis"... Anyway it is August 11th through the 17th. Now you have a whole year to schedule other stuff around the rally....

I think I dodged one hell of a bullet coming home. We had a very enjoyable trip back. No issues other than semi-truck traffic. (Which begs the question... If your truck does 65-1/2MPH and you want to pass a truck doing 65, why wait for an uphill section of the road to do it? But I digress...)
Got done cleaning the camper up and hooked up my flatbed to take my mower over to a buddy's house to weld a bracket on. On the way home, started getting whiffs of diesel, and noticed a white haze in the rear-view. Was really close to the house so I figured I would just get it home and see what the issue was.
Turns out that cheap-ass AutoZone fuel filter (that I KNEW better to buy) that I put in just before we left for the rally had the gasket split and it was spraying fuel right at the turbo. As I was running on a 35MPH road with virtually no load on it, I really never got the turbo cooking. I shudder to think what would have happened if it would have let go yesterday with the turbo nice and hot from pulling the camper.
Let that be a lesson kids. Never buy any filters except OEM (Motorcraft, Delco, or Mopar). It's simply not worth saving a few bux on cheap filters. This one could have burnt down my truck and my camper, or even caused serious injury to me, Miss Kelly or the Abby-dog. Yeah, I'm tossing around the idea of a new truck, but not like that.

We got home this afternoon after spending the night at Spring Hills Campground in Cave City, KY. What an awesome experience for the DW and I as "First Timers" to to this Rally. We met so many wonderful people and made several new friends, especially those around us (Jim, Kathie, Wayne X2, Joan, Jan, Rick, Carolyn, Dennis) that took us under their wings and guided us through the Goshen Rally experience . Our rescue fur baby, Cuddles, was also impressed/overwhelmed with all of her new friends. I was surprised/impressed with the number of FR3'rs that were at the Rally. Lots of valuable information shared between us.
Lastly, a great big Shout Out to Bob and Cindy for organizing such an awesome event. One can only imagine the amount of time and effort it took you to pull this off (even pulling a few strings to get a beautiful Rainbow to show itself just before the concert on Friday! The same goes for all of those that volunteered. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!!!
Already making plans for next year that will include stepping up as volunteers. Next stop Bamaganza 2018 in October.
See ya next year.

By the way a rumor from a good source says there is planning to have a mini rally again in Petrolia Ontario this coming June.

Was leaving today from the rally, making our way east for the Maratime Rally. Was heading east on Indiana #6 do to construction on Indiana #20 and I 80 being so ruff.
Low and behold I see a Brinks truck following us, for 10 Plus miles, and he followed me into McDonalds. All right, my ship came in and they didn’t move the dock. Publishing Clearing House I love you.
Then he drove right around me and went inside.
So depressed.
