Tour kid option?

Is there a discounted price for the under 12 kids for the optional tours?

Spots

Do I got this correct. There are 800 spots, 200 with septic, unknown qua ntity with 50 AMP, all with water?

Can someone tell me how the spots are filled? Online reservations, does first caller get first open spot?

No guarantee as to what spot you will get, first 2 years I had 50 amp with sewer, last 3 I had 30 amp, no sewer.

Factory tours are free, the optional tours are per ‘spot’, so full price for the kids I believe. Then again, I didn’t do the optional tours with my kids. My little buggers while they’re the sweetest kids normally, if they get bored or cranky, we need to be able to go back on our own. I’m not going to subject 48 other people to the terror my little angels can raise when they decided they’ve had enough.

Instead, if there’s something a tour offered and we can do it own our own, we did it that way. Like, instead of the tour to Shipsewanna, we drove there ourselves, and after a couple of hours, came home.

The rally tips survival thread should cover all that, but basically Bob and the parking committee work it out this way:

1) Handicapped needs get addressed (Note: handicapped spots are non-sewered, but are the closest to food and other stuff typically)

2) Certain groups that pre-date the Frog rally get special consideration, but again, typically non sewered.

3) Bob stuffs the PPST members as far away as possible where they can cause the least damage. [emoji3] (j/k). Again, non-sewered.

4) The rest of the sites go by lottery. (Not order of registration,, it really is a name in hat kind of draw.). Sewer sites go first, the rest are grouped into areas. If you’re lucky to get a sewer, you get that spot. If you get an area instead, you get the next available spot in the row when you show up. No spots are guaranteed next to each other unless you show up together so your buddy is the one who gets ‘the next available spot’ next to yours. And they just work their way down filling rows. Some areas front to back, some back to front, so getting their earlier/later is a bit of a gamble too depending on how they felt like starting that area.

So, if you’re looking for a way to game the system to guarantee a sewered or a 50A site, there isn’t one. And even if you do happen to luck out and get a 50A site for a 50A rig, I believe the request is to not use it all. The system is already at it’s limits at 800 units. If it wasn’t for the power limitations, Bob could probably open double the spots. There’s plenty of room, just not plenty of power.
