Seems like the free service train has finally left the station....will be interesting to see what happens now that the big draw of this rally has been dramatically altered

When a person gets new breaks and axles every year it cost, people do take advantage of FR. I know a person who has done this and whines and crys foul so much they did it to shut him up. Good for you Forest River. When they took the 2 year warranty away they are giving people this. Now let's hope the QC improves so people don't need it and cut these people out who has caused this action.

Bob, what if we have a 2015 that is still under the 2 year warranty? is there an exception or can warranty service be requested while there?

Depends on the manufacturer date of compliance, "date came off the line" consider yourself lucky. This has been stated and hashed out by BOB and Members. There is no 2 year on newer units being produced today. It is over. That is my understanding. A unit that sits at a dealer with an earlier date could get accepted, what was the date on your trailer sticker SYE

Well you got me, that is not what I have read. I don't doubt you at all and I don't work for FR. So you are saying that WILDCAT can get a factory 2 year for 150.00 dollars, and the factory sent you the contract? You are also stating that it's not through your dealer? Well hell good for you, that is nothing that I have read on this forum. I guess they new it was You ha! Thanks for the info, maybe I'll buy a Wildcat to get that now, there beautiful trailers, them and the CC. Would be my choices.

I have only owned an RV that was more than two years old once and that was a long time ago so I think I'm good. But then again, I'm not going for the service. [emoji41]

Well I have been a Forest River owner now since I bought a 2015 model Sanibel. I have also been a strong supporter of Forest River and its customer service. The primary reason I bought a Prime Time product was its customer support. I had several contacts with them prior to buying and they always got back to me promptly they answered emails promptly and would answer the phone when called and or get back to me promptly.
One of my questions was the ability to buy and secure parts directly from them if required. I was assured that I could purchase any part myself directly from their parts department at any time without going through a dealer. Many reasons behind this but let’s say I owned SOB previously and it was a nightmare.
Over the course of the last year or so I have seen Forest River retreat from quality customer service across the board. Warrantee used to be 2 years when I bought my unit, warrantee is now only a year. I have not tired to order parts in the last year, but friends have and have been told that they will no longer sell parts to owners, but the parts must be send and ordered through a dealer.
When you call Forest River parts or service you now receive an automated message machine, that says leave a message and we will get back to you. Have not tried the email route but I assume that the response will be slow and or nonexistent.
Now the International rally service is being scaled back to only 2016 and newer models. I fully understand that some people may have taken advantage of service in the past. But for the last several years, service has been scaled back; no limit, 5 items, 3 items, 2 items now the new rules. Forest River should have addressed the problem folks directly rather than taking out the punishment on all owners.
I know in my case if my unit was built the way it should have been in the first place that most of my problems would never have occurred. Shoddy workmanship and speed of construction caused almost all my problems. Also, every year I look over the new model year units and the quality has gotten worse every year.
My dealer has already dumped Forest River due to the large number of problems on most units, therefore selling Forest River products did not make sense for them any longer. So, I do not even have dealer support available. The next purchase decision will be hard no Keystone (Thor) and no Forest River that wipes out most of the RV market. So, for now I will just have to keep my old unit running.

Some confusion here that really goes to how each division of FR handled the new rule.

I purchased in July of 2017. The division I purchased from offered the 2nd year until then end of the 2017 model year, I fell into that bucket. The 2018's that were out at that exact time did not have that available for those models. I think each division handled it differently as they saw fit. That is what is stoking this fire.

The end result at this time is that there is no second year...

That's great, but that is not through the factory is it? Who is the administrators of it? Now that would push me towards that line. I'm sure dealers are offering things to sell units. I just won't buy another new unit because the factory stopped the optional 2 year. It took me 2 years to work all the bugs out, I hope you don't need it, but I'm glad you have it, piece of mind if nothing less.

Does this model year limitation for service apply across the board to all Forest River brands and its subsidiaries or will this be a pick and choose limitation?

Was that included in the original sales price, built in? I remember talk that , would be the only legal way to do it because they stopped them due to state insurance lines, and that is the reason they stopped them. Maybe they are finding away around it. That would be good for FR. Thanks SUE. Can't wait for your tour ha! [emoji848]
