I don't think the Amish cam pull a trailer with there horse and buggy, really makes no difference between local and international, but the friends I'm talking about are the service crew, not frogs, give other people a chance, local rallys are small.

But the rally wouldn't be the same without the Tiki Hut or the Phrog Pond. Surely you wouldn't be adverse to exempting them.

So what if everyone who has been before decides not to go so new people can go, but there are not enough new people. I think if anyone wants to go all they have to do is register, new old whatever!

Well, then it might take more than 21 hours to fill up........but it would fill up nonetheless. Not everyone that's been would decide to forego........but I did hear the discussions that they're pumping these trailers and MH's out, and there are tons of newbies, and it would be nice for them to get a chance. Right now, it's just whoever is online and aware at the right time. I'm not discouraging anyone from going. I just know I'd reserve X spots for first timers, if'n I was King of Frog. But I ain't.......I ain't even a tadpole. I'm just chit chatting opinions.

It's a good rally any way you slice it. No question.

So I'm curious, with 800 spots available for the rally what number does "X" represent, 100, 200, 400, 600?

I honestly don't know. It's just a thought I had. If you make me state a number, I'd say about half should be new each year. But I don't know the exact logistics and it's a subjective thought anyway, I realize probably not shared.

I have been twice. But I was admittedly very surprised to learn that this rally has only been around since 2013 or so.......and it had about 450 units to start with. I could be way off, that's just what I heard.

I think the discussion boils down to whether this rally is intended by the Manufacturer to be A) a rally to thank their most dedicated customers, or B) to show good faith by agreeing to a free fix to things wrong with newer trailers. Or some of both.

I probably shouldn't have brought it up. It was just a passing thought I had.

I was just wondering how many sites you thought should be held for first-timers. If you remember at the first night’s dinner FROG Bob asked how many were first-timers to the rally and a very large number of hands went up. There were a lot of first-timers at the rally this year.

FYI for everyone. The first Goshen FROG Rally was in 2012 and there were around 250 rigs “+” or “-“ 20. At that rally no one knew that Forest River would be doing repair work free of charge. I had a brand new rig that year and drove a total of 400 miles to and from the dealer to get warranty issues fixed before we made the trip to the Goshen rally.

I’ve been to all six rallies and love meeting up with some of our “once a year” camping friends, especially those who make the long trip from Canada. Although we generally don’t see these friends other than Goshen, we do keep in touch via Facebook and other social media.

I agree newbies should be encouraged to come, but it seems to me many are getting in. We were first-timers this year, and as Oakman says, it's my impression a great many others were also there for the first time. We had no trouble signing up...just had to be alert to when registration opened, and there was plenty of advance notice. A real highlight was getting to meet Oakman and some of the others whom I only knew from the forum. For weeks before the event I enjoyed checking in daily for updates on the zip line (still never found it!) and reading about the Tiki Hut. We need those veterans who keep the traditions (like the Phrog Pond) going and give us newbies so much to look forward to.

We were first timers this year and we would very much like to go back next year. We are planning on going to Alaska next year but you never really know. About the only reservations we make for the year is the rally at Goshen. We are planning to be in Canada and Alaska next May, June and July. Maybe be in the market for a new camper after two trips to Alaska.

AUG 12-18 2018 - Goshen Indiana - FROG International

I think there should be a fix and no fixes areas but then they would have to do 2 meal times for 2 groups. That place can only hold how many they allow to go at one time. More would get to go and have a good time meeting people

If there's that many first timers every time, then there is really no issue.

It was just a thought. Seems moot, though.

I would go to the Goshen rally even if I didn't get anything fixed on the camper. But it's the only one I want to go too

Knowing what I know about FROG Bob and FROG and Forest River, it is my paltry opinion that we are wasting the keystrokes off our keyboards with suggestions on how they manage registration/participation.

One thing they could do is limit the number of campers signing up, would be no free fixes or no campers past a certain year. Next year I would think the rally will sell out in two hours or less.

You're missing out if you think Goshen is the only rally you'll have fun at! I've had as much and possibly more fun at the smaller rallies I've attended.

Not me, the Goshen rally is the only one I care about going too. I like to go my own way. Different strokes for different folks, I can see lots of people like to go to rallies just not me. I enjoy meeting new people just not the same ones all the time. Going to a lot of rallies is just not for me.
