I don't care what everybody else says, Gary, I think you're all right.

We were planning on having a service meeting today, including tweaking the form, and posting it this afternoon. We postponed the meeting until Monday because of Good Friday, so it will be early next week.
You'll be getting an e-mail update about that and other items later this afternoon.

Gary is stepping up to volunteer based on this post I put on Facebook overnight:
Quote:
You should see the things that we have to do behind the scenes to get this event ready.
About two weeks ago we met with the chef and some of the staff from Nelson's to discuss the menus, and we "had to" eat lunch that Chef Tony prepared.
He asked if we'd be interested in testing some of the new menu items, and we "grudgingly" agreed. Around 5:30 this afternoon Ryan from Nelson's dropped off dinner at the office -- braised pot roast with onions and carrots; pork short ribs; vegetable medley in garlic butter; mixed greens with strawberries, pecans, croutons, and poppy seed dressing; and samples of four kinds of cheesecake.
We were there until 7:00 (actually an early night compared to some recent ones) slaving away on testing.
Oh, the times we "take one for the team"!
|
Oh, and Mike, let's not confuse the two issues.

I know it's a rough job, but someone has to do it. Thanks for your sacrifice Bob.

Last year must have been your 1st year...
Having attended 3 previous I can assure you that last year was an exception to the usually DELICIOUS food!
Last year they went with a Caterer that SHOULD have been able to deliver. It was not Bob or Cindy's fault - the caterer blew it. FROG voted with its checkbook and that caterer is not serving the rally this year. With Nelson's back as caterer the food will undoubtedly be fabulous. Sure wish we were attending this year
The green beans in the eggs for breakfast last year were gross - I must admit! (and the maple-flavored corn dogs on Saturday were over-the-top gross )

The military certainly can ... 5000 each day at an exercise at March AFB called Gallant Eagle/Gallant Knight. We also feed 1600 at our church's wild game dinner in 1-1/2 hours.

If it won't fit or it's not allowed, I'll ride on the roads, then you can go. I just got back from a 41 mile ride, 129 miles so far this week. [emoji1338]
