50 AMP Service

Do all the sites have 50 amp service, or some 30 amp only? I need 50 to stay cool.

Most of the sites will be 30 amp. A few of the FHU are 50 amp, but not all of them. I would plan on having a 30. Run your fridge and water heater on propane and only 1 ac

Most have 30 amp. In the past, with 800 coaches trying to run a/c at the same time, we've taxed the fairground' power pretty heavily. We've asked people with two a/c units to only run one at a time. You won't be the only one in that situation. Probably better than half the unit's there (myself included) have two air conditioners. But in order to put on a rally this size at the fairgrounds, everybody has to help by conserving power.

Thank you. I will bring a converter plug. However, my refrigerator is residential which means no propane, only electric.

Will I be permitted to run my generator?

Your residential refrigerator and one a/c will both run fine on 30 amp service. A lot of the Cedar Creek and Columbus units (to name a few) as well as many of the class A coaches have the same type of refrigerators now.

Also, keep in mind the units are parked VERY close together. Running the generator may be annoying to your neighbors due to the noise and fumes.

Also keep in mind that we are camping at a (very nice) county Fair Ground. Not an RV Resort. Any accommodations that u may have to make, is more that made for by just being part of the largest gathering of a FROG folk on the planet.

I have not really ever heard of anyone complaining at the rally of only using one a/c unit ever being to hot in their unit, besides FROG Bob usually puts his request in for pleasant weather for the rally and usually works out well.....except maybe for that RAIN leak test he supplied last year , those poor Cedar Creek folks that had to wade knee deep just to cross the track last year was probably the worst case I have ever seen.

If you need to run your generator you can. We have never had to impose "quiet hours" for generators, just relied on everyone to be considerate of their neighbors if there's a need to run them. There's never been an issue, and I don't expect that we'll run into one this year, either.

By the way, Cindy and I have a Berkshire with 3 A/Cs, residential refrigerator, electric induction stove top, and convection microwave. The only propane appliances are the on-demand water heater and the furnace.

We full-time in the coach, and when we're not on the road, we're usually on 30 amps at the campground at the Coachmen complex in Middlebury. It takes a little planning, but it can be done.

I expect to send out e-mails requesting people to be on the parking and registration teams this week.

We've had a tremendous outpouring of volunteers, and appreciate every one of them. We are not able to assign everyone to those two teams, although they will comprise well over 150 people.

The parking and registration teams will be a mix of both experienced and new members, roughly 2 to 1. We want to take advantage of the experience that a lot of our members have in those functions, as well as welcoming new members to the teams and making sure that we always have a flow of "new blood."

If you get one of those e-mails, we'll ask that you reply right away to confirm that we can plan on your help. We'll be assigning shifts for parking and registration to ensure that all shifts and functions are covered, and will rely on you to be there as assigned. We can't guarantee right now whether you'll be on an early or later shift, but where we have two people in an RV working -- and if there are two of you, we're asking both of you to help wherever possible -- we'll try to assign you to work at the same times.

If you're not selected for the parking or registration team, please understand that we're blessed with an abundance of volunteers, and we ask that you still plan to help with golf cart shuttles, staffing the rally office, helping to get people on the right tour buses, and other functions throughout the week.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help and co-operation!

Someone on the waiting list may get a blessing soon. Just waiting on contract signatures first for a project opportunity that's come up.
