All the people we have met at the rally have been nice, hopefully we will see each other down the road. We enjoy camping and like to be around people that enjoy the same thing. Went to see some new Cedar Creeks today, I think one has my name on it

I purchased Tire Tracker in June at SOB rally. This temps works great and at the rally price worth the investment! The young couple were able to answer any question I had about it!

While I agree that our tanks ARE Holding and NOT Septic, I disagree with your timeline. Biologic breakdown occurs immediately and is really ramped up in @ 12 hours. Fulltimers (As Scheinin & I are) can usually go 2 weeks between dumps - more than ample enough time for breakdown to occur. More importantly, the biologic activity is converting solid waste; the net result of which is "no more poo smell"

The problem with Blue Streak (and any of the drop in packages) is they are specifically designed to mask orders, not eliminate them. This is where the biologics (Like Sea-Zyme & RVDigestIt come in)--especially for seasonal, fulltime, or long term campers. As I said, the biologic & enzyme activity converts the compounds that produce odor.

Is this stuff for you? Maybe. As a infrequent weekend camper you can continue to use the drop-ins or Blue Streak. Actually, if you do not camp more than 30-ish days a year, I'd just use the GEO Method.

Long-time or Fulltime RV'ers will benefit - especially if you are a Big Rig and have a BIG black tank (ours is 55 GAL ) There is only 2 of us, so we usually go 2 weeks - sometimes 3 between dumps. For us, we are finding that the odor maskers force us to dump more frequently to get rid of the smell, not holding tank contents.

We experimented with RVDigestIt and liked the results but hated the delivery system (a 1 gallon jug of liquid that had to be temperature controlled so the bacteria would not die off). It worked well but storage was a PITA.

Then our friend Gary (gnlrvspecialties.com) - they are vending at Goshen this year - told me about Sea-Zyme. He swears by it and says it has completely eliminated oders in their holding tank. Since he and his wife fulltime like us, this is good news.

We have switched over to Sea-Zyme and are on week 1. So far, not one single "poo smell" and that even with intentional extended flushes (which leaves the valve to the holding tank open). By now, with Blue Streak only, we would have had odors.

Sea-Zyme looks to be less expensive as well. If you use Blue Streak straight from the bottle and do not dilute (which we had to do for odor control) It's @ $10/month to use (1 bottle per month) or $120 a year.

I got a year's worth (for a fulltimer) of Sea-Zyme from Gary for $60.00. OK that's 1/2 Price.

I will post a 6 month update elsewhere in the forums and let folks know how it has worked out for us.

One final point: Drop-Ins, Blue-Streak and even the modified GEO method we used (Pine-Sol, Dawn Dish Liquid & Calgon Water Softener) are chemicals that are not good for the environment. OTOH, RVDigestIt & Sea-Zyme are natural enzymes & Bacteria that do no harm to the environment. For us, personally, this is treading a bit more softly on the Earth, and is something that we hope everyone will consider.

My .02’ - YMMV

What about waste diversion? Septic aside I have seen very little recycling in my travels in the USA. This should be done everywhere. A little lestoil is nothing compared to waste.

That's because many of the rally attendees have already packed up and left the rally now that they got their free service by forest River techs.

I certainly hope that is not the reason they are leaving.

As a first timer, this place has amazed us. From the staging area to unhook the toad, parking crew, the endless volunteers and especially the service techs who have bent over backwards to help people.

I believe they should consider offering pre registration for next year's rally to those that attended this year a week before opening up registration to everybody else.

As this is my first Rally of any kind, I did not know what to expect. I have been amazed. From getting parked, to the meals, to the seminars, to the technicians. I am completely blown away. Not only did they repair the minor 2 things I wrote on my list (light out, and shade not staying down), but while they were at my rig, they pointed out some caulking had dried up and I had a very small rain leak on my bedroom slide. They then came out and caulked. Not only that, but the squeaky main slide out, which I thought might be normal, when I mentioned it to a lippert tech, he told me it wasn't and the lippert people came out and lubed the slide.

PLUS, all those volunteers riding around looking for people they can give a lift too. As I said above, I am completely blown away. All you workers and tech's are fantastic. I had a ball.

Since they maxed out at 800, how will that allow new people to register. When FROG Bob asked how many first timers, look how many stood up.

Hopefully they can expand the max number, although the dinning area was full holding 1600 people.

Id say it would be unfair to allow and not giving new folks a chance to attend. . Just cause you attended this year you should be privileged to get to pre register don't think so. Later RJD

Really? Then the rally would be just like snowbirding in Florida: The only way you get a reservation for 2018 is if you Snowbirded in 2017

They are just about at max capacity Steven. This has been discussed several times over the past several years.

While it would be nice to have a 2,000 Rig FROG Rally (would SOMEONE PLEASE wave some smelling salts under FROG Bob's nose )

Logistically and infrastructure wise it is impractical.

Unless Goshen is willing to build a power substation, water pump house and waste treatment plant east of the Fairgrounds - oh and double the size of the main hall

We've really enjoyed our first Goshen FROG Rally. Already planning for next year.

On another subject, we're wondering if these donuts will last from Goshen IN to Savannah GA.

Before I post this on the classified section if you are at the Rally we have a TOW MASTER DOLLY for sale. It's the wide one 80" I think. If you'd like to see it it's parked in front of gate F chained to the pole in the median. $875 and has only been used a few times.
