Thanks to all

We're home again after a great week at the rally. Just want to thank all the volunteers and others who made the whole experience so pleasant. Special thanks to the Phat Phrogs for their friendliness and hospitality at the beer and wine tasting. Still looking for that zip line, though. Hope to be back next year.

Also had a very good time at the rally. Our thanks to Bob and Cindy for a fantastic time this year. Were so impressed with the Berkshire motorhomes, we did a bit of research and found a new 2017 XL at the right price and placed a deposit. We be flying to Texas to pick it up at the end of the month!! The DW and I are very happy campers! Hope see all at Amana!!

Ya. that's what we did this year after attending the last two and boy it sure makes us wish we were there. Next year, hopefully. We'll see.

We got 4 ears but didn't get a chance to have them until we got home. They were so sweet. We get good fresh sweet corn up here right from the farm but it's not as good as the corn they gave us at the rally.

Not only was the dining area full, but we have just about maxed out the power and water capabilities of the fairgrounds.

We use far more electrical hook-ups and electrical capacity than the fairgrounds uses for the 4-H Fair. None of the temporary camping in Northeast 1, 2 or 3, the track infield, or the south end of the Grove is set up for the fair. All of that had to be laid out and connected in the 4 days between the end of the fair and the start of parking.

Earlier there was some discussion about buying an RV while at the rally. Did anyone order one while at the Rally? If so, what kind of pricing did you get?

My Silverback began a tradition dating back to the first 2012 FROG rally in Goshen of having something break or quit working at the very first stop on the way home from the rally. This year (the sixth) was no exception when we stopped for the night at the Casey, IL KOA. When I went outside to turn the water heater on electric for our hot water in the morning, the cam latch on the access door broke in my hand.

Since the RV dealer in Casey was already closed I went with the duct tape solution for the journey home. Monday I went to the local RV dealer and paid twice what I should have ($5) for a cam latch.

Putting a new cam latch on is a 15 second job. It took me a lot longer to get the duct tape residue off the water heater access door. Fortunately WD-40 and a magic eraser made quick work of the tape residue.

Many thanks to Bob and Cindy for the work they do organizing the Goshen FROG rally. Once again this was an outstanding FROG event and the weather for the rally dates was excellent.

Also my thanks to Capt. Mike, Scott, and the parking and taxi supervisors who put in incredibly long hours before and during the rally to help Bob and Cindy make the event successful. Those volunteers deserve a hearty pat on the back.

I think our first rally was the greatest, the weather turned out perfect, can't say enough about all the great people we met at the rally. Had a really great time, met Frog Bob. Where the sign up list for next year?

I win the prize. SURELY I win the prize. Or maybe not, heck some of 'em work so fast they finish yesterday what they started today! BUT........I filled out the Service Form, and began walking back to trailer. I hit one foot onto the track and the phone rang. "Where are you? We be's at yore trailer waitin' on ya!!". And they were.

I was too out of breath to mention the other two minor items. But boy did they do good work. I have NO idea how they got my service ticket before I got to the tent where there service tickets were being handed out!?!?!?? I am sure it has to do with aliens or something, Warp Drive golf carts, sumpin'.....

Goober. You went the wrong direction.

I'm in Traverse City, MI till I go back to Orvan's shop Aug 24. The weather up here and the weather in Heaven are identical.

My back cap is faded and Denise said the next date was sometime in June. Called Orvan and his next open date was at the end of January so I set a date for April. We will be on our way to Alaska.

Hi Oakman, I live about an hour and a half north of Casey. In case you (and others) do not know, Casey is home to about 6 Guinness Book of World Records for the largest:
working wind chimes, rocking chair, knitting needles, golf tee, rural postal box, and a few others. Plus you can't go wrong eating at Richard's Farm Restaurant. It's a dairy barn remolded into a restaurant.
