Happy Rally Day.

Just an FYI for anybody traveling I-59 Eastbound between Birmingham and Gadsden. There is a stretch of the highway for about 10 miles or more that is quite rough. It's tolerable but you will want to slow to about 50-55. Location is about 10 miles East of where I-459 intersects I-59.

Safe travels to all.

As bad as I hate to say this because I despise "leftlaners":
Get in the left lane at Trussville (i59) and stay there until just north Springville. Guessing 12-15 miles. The right lane is rough and there are several places that WILL blow a tire, but the entire lane is rough enough to damage RV. Everyday there is someone with a blowout along that route. We live in Trussville and my Wife works in Gadsden, after replacing 4 tires, She now is a leftlane hog until Springville.
We store our RV in Gadsden to keep it off this stretch of road.

Last week a very nice Class A blew 2 tires and hit the guardrail.

Thanks for posting that but for us it was a little late as we got here Monday but had sense enough to slow down to 45 made it fine. A couple that got here ahead of us kind of gave us a heads up. Later RJD

I knew it was kinda late, just forgot about the Bamaganza this week or I would have sent out the caution last week.
There is an TT with both right side tires blown out right now at the Argo exit, I stopped and offered to help but they are waiting on tire service to get there. Both wheels are bent. It seems the worst potholes are right before the Deerfoot exit. The local mobile tire service is making a killing on this stretch of road, and has been for a few years. The problem is exacerbated when the vehicles hit the rough spots and lose items/parts. I stopped 1 day(with very little traffic) and picked up a Honda generator and 2 bicycles (still attached to bike rack)that had broken and fallen from an RV. Amazingly with very little damage and with the help of Facebook found the owners in Chattanooga.

We met them at River Country and camped together for 3 days.
