Someone will need to do the math but Las Vegas might only be a couple of hours away from Calico. LV might make a good detour on the way home for some.

Of course I'm in for Calico.

Surely others are interested in this too. If it's a question of timing or other reasons please let us know. Let's get the ball rolling.

We usually have a Halloween rally that we go to with a group in October and sometimes we go out on our own. It will prob depend when the dates are if we will be attending or not.

I think we are leaning toward another weekend in October instead of Halloween. Feel free to share which dates could work for you. Any weekend dates plus a day before or after would work for me.

Just trying to get a feel for what might work for others. October 2015 or October 2016? Short get-together or longer? Etc...

I was thinking of the weekend of oct 23-25. Just wanted to see how many were interested. If anything, might be just us campers meeting up and pot luck between us all!

Also interested. Good time of year for Calico, as well.

I just checked and currently none of the campsites are available to be reserved for the last two weekends in October. I spot checked a few sites and it looks like those date ranges have been blocked out. Maybe they are intending to release them later?

The earlier October weekends dates are available.

Calico ghost town rally?

Just spoke with reservations for SB county and currently they say that they are not taking any reservations for that weekend yet- not until April 23rd. If I call back with a head count that day, they will request special pricing for the group. So that might be why they appear blocked out.

So pencil in the dates and let's grab some more FROG members and have our own little rally in the middle of the desert!

OK- spoke with someone at calico. Oct 23rd starts their Halloween havoc and they say it is CRAZY there for those last two weekends. So I feel the better choice would be the weekend of the 16th &17th. They say they have a group of 20 full hookup rv spots that are more/less in a giant circle. Keep letting us know who's interested in going and we will see about a road trip to check out every thing shortly.

Not sure if we are going since it will be our tenth anniversary time but checked the prices and the county park is $40/n and the KOA is about $51/n for 30 amp pull thru.
Just thought to put it out there.

I forgot about the KOA being close by. I meant to check it out while camping at Calico a couple of years ago.

There's something about camping at a ghost town that's a bit spooky. LOL - There were just 2 other campsites in use besides mine after everyone left on Sunday. The full moon added to the experience and I can't wait to camp at Calico again.

Last night I posted some photos from Calico Ghost Town. Sorry but I don't have any photos of the town shops. I arrive at Calico not feeling well and quickly found out that camping while sick is not fun. I didn't make it far past the campsite. No energy to drive up the hill to visit the town.

Try clicking on my user name and then click on my albums to get to it. If I'm not making much sense right now it because it's been a long work week.
