Road advice

For anyone who has not been to Chenango Valley State Park do NOT take route 79 out of Whitney Point (GPS may send you that way if taking route 81). Route 79 needs work, lots of bumps and some potholes. There is a right had swoop that goes over a set of railroad tracks that could leave part of your rig on the main road if a train is going through. After that you cross over a bridge another right swoop then a really steep uphill climb that can be slippery. My husband and I took that route today on our way to the park.
Your best option is to take route 88 to Port Crane then route 369 to the park entrance.
I hope to post pictures later today that we took while visiting the campground before the rain started.

Thanks Jean! Would have gone that way. Maybe fixed up by July?

Our rig is short, but bad roads are bad roads.

A great web site

For those that may not know about this site my husband wanted me to share this. He loves campadk.com. Even though it has Adirondack in its name the site has probably every DEC and state park campground listed. If you go to the explore by region, pick central New York, click on Chenango Valley and you can get to over 900 photos of the park. The number of stars that a campground is awarded is based on the campsites proximity to water, so don't let the two stars frighten you.

Thanks Jean! FYI posting pic from your camera phone: Try to take most pics in landscape format (hold phone so it is horizontal)and they won't come out sideways.

But we will all go to the center common area like ants at a picnic.

Truer words were never spoken!

How many canopies do you think we will need this year? The crowd is bigger than last year: how many did we have?

We will have ours...

Can I ask or do I need to call if I have the paper from our vet with our dogs latest shot updates. Is that ok? Or do I need an actual copy of their rabies certificate. The form I have has the dates of shots or procedure was done and the date is expires I have a separate paper for each. Their pics for cuteness

At the gate upon check-in, they will ask about any pets you have with you. at that time, they will want to see a certificate showing your pups' latest shots.
To be safe, we brought one signed by our vet when Scotch (our cat) had her annual checkup.

I always err on the side of caution: too much is better than not enough....
