Hi, all
These are all great photos. I remember several from when I was looking at the contest site months ago.
I can't say that I know what was on the judges' minds, but it occurs to me that most of these photos show great places in great ways, but (except for Forest) show nothing that connects to RVing. What I mean is that if someone who didn't know the contest rules were looking at the photo, they'd have no idea that it had anything to do with "the RV lifestyle."
Now we all know that travel is a big part of it. Seeing new things is a big part of it. The trick is to get a photo that shows all of that but also intimately ties it in with RVing.
For what it's worth, that's my Monday morning quarterback analysis. Once again, these are all great photos.

That's a great shot, but no thanks for the winter invite. I prefer warmer climates.

One reason so many of the submitted photos didn’t seem to connect with RVing is the contest was supposedly to show Forest Jump in your travels. I don’t recall any contest rule stating the photo should show the RV lifestyle. Also, one of the rules was Forest Jump should be “featured” in the photo. Apparently that rule didn’t really apply since Forest Jump was almost completely hidden in the photos of the first and second place winners. Actually Ken I thought your winning photo, while outstanding, was better suited for the current RV Lifestyle Photo Contest not the Forest Jump Contest.
Since I seem to be going off on a tangent, let me critique the second place winner. The shadow of the photographers arm can be seen on the side of the Cedar Creek in that photo. Also the image of Forest Jump is overexposed and I won’t even mention the fishing rod helping to obscure Forest Jump. I mean really, that took second place? I looked long and hard to find Forest Jump in that photo.
Also 50% of judging criteria was based on “creativity.” That was another reason so many photos didn’t include a photo of an RV or campsite. So that is my analysis of the photo contest.
If this sounds like sour grapes, then so be it. I’m just expressing my thoughts.

Nothing wrong with expressing your thoughts!
Look, if everyone had exactly the same opinions, likes and dislikes, the world would be boring.

A Forest Jump is a plush toy that was given out to every rig that was at the Goshen F.R.O.G. Rally last year.....with the photo contest to follow showing Forest Jump in his travels.....as Oakman stated. At the time they were only given to Rally folks and that made the photo contest something only available to Rally folks.
Not sure if others are available or not.
