We love the rally but there is no food there that my wife can eat, Really hate to pay for something that we dont use. I can eat it but i would not leave her to eat at one time and me at another. I have eaten there a few times but usually we cook and eat at the camp site.

Gotcha.

Go/Donít go. Your call.

But most people seem to be thrilled with how they do things nowóand would be as unhappy as you are now if things were to change.

Nothing would change, Just some people opt out of eating the food there.
Plain and simple.

And then ya add more cost to the rally. System works now and if you choose not to eat so be it. You try to run a rally involving 800 rigs and folks asking for changes see how works for ya, and Just imagine the work it takes to put on a rally and then folks feel they should not have to pay for the meals, here again another thing has to be separated out more work. The kiss system works very well. Later RJD

When looking at the overall cost of the Rally, I tend to view it this way:

Included in the Rally is usually:

1) 6 Nights camping with power, water and either dumps or pumps.
2) 16 Dinners (4x4)
3) 24 Breakfasts (6x4)
4) Vendor Discounts
5) Door Prizes!
6) Free service (within reason)
7) Factory Tours
8) Examining new RV models
9) Ice Cream Socials!
10) Seminars
11) Meeting up with old friends and making new friends!!!!!

Given all of that, for a price of less than $600. I can easily spend $600 camping for the week at other locations, everything else is just icing on the cake. From that angle, whether you think the food is good, bad or so-so, if you think of it as being 'free' then it's not such a big deal.

For people worked up over the food, the easiest way to keep your sanity is to look at it this way....

For $575 you get a week of all the good stuff and some free meals. Of course, you can chose to pass on the free meals if they don't suit your tastes/needs/schedule.

To want to break out the costs of the meals and then deduct that from the rally fee if you chose to pass on them makes about as much sense as saying that people who drive farther should get in cheaper because they spend way more money on gas. (And YES, I overheard someone making that point last year)

The rally is extremely popular. Its a formula that has worked for years now, and to nit-pick over $60 worth of food and demand thing be changed around to better suit you is (in my eyes) kinda disrespectful of all the people who work exceedingly hard to make it a complete event.

This is my $0.02.

Tim

So... let me ask you this. When invited to a wedding, do you give a cheaper gift if they don't have food at the reception you can eat?
