Tuesday
Took advantage of the awesome weather to do the early Fort Sumter tour we missed yesterday. Wow; raising the flag over the old fort was quite the experience.
Went to Folly Beach and had lunch followed by a beach walk.
Freya spent the day recovering from her romp.

Dec 8-13, 2019 - FROG Festival of Lights
Other than a bit cold had a nice day at Boone’s Plantation. Then on to Patriots Point to see the Yorktown. Finished the day with dinner at Hymans.

Lou, you didn't mention that you'd gotten to participate in the flag-raising. Nice bonus! A lot of our folks took part in lowering the flag on the prior afternoon since we were on the last boat of the day.

Charleston in 2020
Since we all know how far in advance we RVers have to plan and book campgrounds, has a date(s) been set for the Festival of Lights in 2020? I'm hoping to book some Florida state parks for the time before the festival and that means 11 months ahead of time so that's coming up fast!
Thanks.

Dear Bob,
I noticed a date had been set for the Festival of Lights at James Island County Park for December 13 - 18, 2020. I would like to sign up for this Rally. I would appreciate your putting my name on the participant list.
Please send the information for the Rally when it is finalized, and I will be happy to complete the required documentation and submit the appropriate fees. Will I need to make a reservation at the park?
I look forward to hearing from you. sju62@bellsouth.net

SaraJoann, yes, the dates for the Holiday Festival of Lights are December 13-18. We'll announce the start of registration well in advance on the FROG website, on Facebook, on the Forums, and via a newsletter mailing. We don't, however, sign anyone up or hold spots in advance of registration opening.
We're going to keep much of the itinerary similar to what it's been in the past, but we're changing a couple of item to include a new activity that came to Charleston for the first time this year. Cindy and I visited it after the event, and decided that it's so extraordinary that we'd change the Holiday Festival of Lights a little bit next year to accommodate it.
When registration opens, it includes registration for the campground, meals, tours, and all of the other activities that are a part of the event. There's no need to do anything else unless you want to stay for any nights before or after the rally. Good luck, though. Right now the campground at James Island County Park is completely filled for both weekends.
Stay tuned!
