Forest River / FROG Weekend March 22

Any updates on this Rally? We called LazyDay RV today and the people taking reservations had no knowledge of the event.

I have heard, from a very reliable source, that all spots for Tadpole 2018 are non reserved at this point. It will be opened at a certain date, for everyone to have a chance to reserve. No preregistration. Again, this is from a highly reliable and respected source. Casey will spill the beans for a couple of dog biscuits. (Donaldís dog)

I have a feeling that the Tadpole registration will be something like the Goshen registration, in that it will fill very quickly.

Just got a couple of final confirmations from Lazydays, so I expect to have registration open shortly after the 1st of January (that sounds better than "sometime next year"). When it opens, registration will be directly with Lazydays on that one.

I'll let you know about Tadpole. Two years ago, almost everyone made reservations for the following year before they left, so the entire event was filled. Last year we decided that wouldn't happen again, so Gary arranged with the campground not to take reservations until a specified date. We'll have information up soon.

We're going to do that on other events, too, so that they don't become a closed group where people attend one year and immediately make reservations for the next year, giving no one else a chance to get in.

We were looking forward to tadpole but had to cancel due to SOB. Bottle service could get you to the front of the line faster than AMEX does IMHO! Hes does put out quite the spread when people visit!

It is a challenge to get the reservations in quickly. For those of us still (un)fortunately working, it is hard to stalk the posts to hear when the registration is open. And then to get online or call to get the reservations can be another delay. Darn jobs - but it does pay for the toys.

This is one reason I like being able to reserve for the next year when we leave an event. We do that for all our trips. Even if there is a cancellation fee it is worth it to know our plans in advance.

And again, those darn jobs, require advance planning for vacation time. For those of you that have been retired for a while, remember those glorious few days off each year? By planning a year in advance, we have a much better chance of getting the time off as requested.

I favor pre-registration, with a cancellation fee, and then using a wait list. The wait list worked great for us last year!

It's unfair to other folks as Frog Bob mentioned as new folks that want to attend a rally that they would like to attend can not. Yes some folks have to do the w thing but most find a way to monitor the forums or Frog web site to see when rally dates are. You can plan ahead that way even tho you may not be able to register till it opens. Also if you have friends that may not work and are campers and on the forums could notify you as to when registration opens. I have done this for folks. Later RJd
