I'm just up the road a bit on the Eastex Freeway (Gateway to East Texas!). I think it would be cool to meet up sometime.
Lorigirl, you'll love Garner SP. If they've gotten rain there, the Frio should be awesome. Don't forget to go see the bats at Concan. It's a sight to see!

Heh...I just looked again. You are right out our back door! So you know there are a lot of campgrounds within a 25 mile radius of us anyway. What are you looking for specifically?

We are in Baytown. We went to Garner SP a couple of weeks ago. Had a great time the park was very quite during the week but a little crowded on the weekend. There is also a campground in CampWood, TX called Big Oak River Camp. We have stayed there a few times and the campground and the people who run it are very friendly.

It would be great if we could start a FROG in and around the Houston area. I have not been on a FROG rally. I would like to go on one. If there is enough interest we will need a leader or two to help get started. I, we, am willing help with getting one started.

No, I haven't been to one. It sounds like we have the beginnings of one right here. Just need someone with some organizational skills to get it going (and time!).

I just liked the Facebook page! We're in San Antonio also. Lori, make sure that you buy the Texas State Parks annual pass - a money saver if you're going to a lot of the state parks! We're looking forward to doing that also with our new Flagstaff.
